Title: Indian Elephant
Post by: Emma.J on April 11, 2011, 09:21:08
I had a go a few months back at at Indian lady which didn't come out too bad. While surfing ebay I managed to get hold of a reasonable priced elephant and had the wild urge to decorate so here's my little group. I might even do a palace later to go with them.

Oh and I had to do something very nasty to get that klicky to ride the elephant, it would have brought tears to the guys eyes!

(Oh and for the nit pickers  ::) I know the ears are wrong for an Indian elephant it looks more like an African but I work with what I got.)

Emma, what did you use for the part that actually straddles the elephant's back? Is it playmo? The part the person sits in looks like a crib.... I don't know how you are about sharing your secrets, but I'm curious!

Beautiful work, and I really like the Lady
You could use it as a start of a Delhi Durbar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delhi_Durbar) diorama.

Very nice job. I was so wondering how you spread his legs to get him to straddle the beast. It must have hurt to have his groin ripped apart  :o

Well spotted! It's a crib with a table stood on top. The steps are the seats from a carriage.

Oh yes a sharp knife, a bit of heat and PULL!!!!!!   :P

Here is the Rani from the top of the elephant and her husband the Raja.

They're gold stickers that come on small sheets, best place to look is any hobby craft shop with scrapbook or card making things - a great place to find stuff.
