Title: Korea invaded by Samurai armies (1592-1598)
Post by: cheng on March 31, 2011, 10:17:16
The Koreans never maintained more than 60,000 troops while Hideyoshi had 500,000 battle-hardened Samurai-wars soldiers..

Korean soldiers were disorganized, ill-trained and ill-equipped...

Japanese muskets were superior to Korean bows, plus their ferocious charges gave them superiority on land

A Korean military official named Shi-eon Lee reported to his Korean king;
"..Korean soldiers cower before the enemy and flee for their lives even before they have engaged the enemy....the Japanese advance so rapidly that they appear right in front of the Koreans, enough time for Koreans to shoot only two arrows....but too scared to shoot when the enemy is near because they fear Japanese swords.....it is possible for Koreans to draw swords and hold their ground, however, they seldom do this and merely run for their lives."

However the Koreans triumphed at sea and sent them packing...(thats another long story if I ever get to making Turtle Boats...massive, yet swift, ramming/cannon ships fitted with iron spikes and an iron-plated deck)

Well at least the difference in numbers between your Samurai and your Koreans is historical. ;)
Really really superb job! :D Your Koreans are amazing! :clap:

Your general looks great Cheng! :wow:
I particularly like how you used the waves on his pm pants to join with the piece you added!
It really makes the whole idea look natural. :)

Your general....used the waves on his pm pants to join with the piece you added....look natural. :)

WoT, it takes a customiser like you who has been doing these things to mention this salient point  ;)

and Dear Gordon, while my samurai theme can go on and on with fighting monks, samurai women, ninjas, matchlock soldiers etc, this korean war can move from Hwacha(batteries of multi-rocket fired arrows) land battles to sea battles...then there's Ming(chinese)-Korean wars, Qing(manchu)-Japanese-korean battles...I need an extended toy room and an extended life  :lol:

and Geobra, if youre watching, naked torsos please, thank you  :love:
