Title: Construction of a New Bypass begins
Post by: Tim_w on March 05, 2011, 16:02:03
Hello Everyone,

Here are a few pictures showing the construction of a new bypass that is being built in our town. These pictures show the very first stages of construction, ground preperation work, leveling and removal of excess soil. Once this is done the next phase will begin, which will include soil stabilisation, laying pipes, digging drains and finally laying the road surface itself. While this is going on two bridges and a tunnel will also be under construction, these will join the three sections of the bypass together.

I am sure the pictures will speak for themselves so I won't go into too much detail.

Well that is all for now, hopefully I will have a few more pictures showing how work progresses in the next few months. That is if I can build the specialist equipment needed to finish the project in time.

FANTASTIC shots Tim! (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/luwerner/gif/notworthy.gif) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/luwerner/gif/notworthy.gif) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/luwerner/gif/notworthy.gif) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/luwerner/gif/notworthy.gif) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v321/luwerner/gif/notworthy.gif)

And a quick question: did your wife kill you after you made those shots? I ask because when I make my pictures I usually lie down on the ground. After doing the shots you did my wife would have killed me for soiling my clothes :0.
She gets on my case when I lie on the dry sidewalk (like this morning... :hmm:), imagine after your shots.

Hello Beth,

Thank you very much for your kind reply. It takes quite a bit of work to get everything looking realistic, especially when all the vehicles are clean when they should be really dirty! I think it all boils down to how you pose the klickies and position the vehicles. I have started to get the camera in a lot closer now, which should give you a klickies eye view  :camera:

Hello Baden,

Thank you for your kind reply. I have had a bit of a break but hopefully I am here to stay this time. I have quite a few new ideas and a lot more inspiration than I had before.

Hello Luciano,

I am quite lucky in the fact that I haven't got a wife to nag me about my dirty clothes or the amount of money I have spent on Playmobil in the past  Unfortunately I did get a clean pair of trousers dirty whilst taking these pictures even though I was trying not to ;D. To make matters worse it was raining slightly as well.

Me too Bonnie, I can't wait either. I have also seen many of your stories, customs, and pictures and I think they are great! When seeing you tool customs, I loved them, could you maybe help me making some, like the jacks, or maybe tips or how you made the tools, please. Thank you very much.

This so incredibly realistic Tim, I love it

The pictures are taken at an angle which makes the engines show like in real life  ;)!

Quite superb !

Magnificent pictures Tim! :wow: I've missed your contributions! I'm glad to see the bulldozers in action! They're one of my favorite construction vehicles that Playmobil has produced! BTW, I'm glad to see you participating with your custom creations again & look forward to your next work! :yippee:

Hello, Beth, Emily, Baden, Wolf Knight, Karim, Bill and Tim  :(o):  :)

Thank you all for your kind replies and your warm welcomes back, they are very much appreciated :)9.

As I said I hope to be able to do a few more pictures to follow on with this series but it might mean some custom vehicles have to be made to add realism 8}. I think I will have to go and look at what can be done ;).

Additionally for Baden I am sure I can give you some pointers on how I have made some of my rescue tools. I will look back at what I have done and give you some advice on how to do them.

Ok that's great! Maybe you can give me step by step when ever you can or maybe you can post pictures, or maybe you can give me or trade me any of your tools or jacks that you have extra of. Just let me known or PM me please.

It's great to see you back, Tim!    In fact it was only a few days ago that I was thinking how long it was since you had last posted.  And you're back with a BANG with a great story line and photos and some of your excellent customs.

Roll on the next episode.

Hello Gordon, Damo and Alison

Thank you all very much for your kind replies, they are much appreciated. I have started work on one of the new vehicles and if I can work out how to make it I should have it ready in time for the next installment.

Tim
This was such a treat to see your photos, I love your photography, my favorite is the surveyor, with the shallow depth of field, as it makes the construction project appear to cover a lot of ground.  I do not have any of the construction sets, so it was especially fun to see all of the pieces in action.  Thank you for posting, and, like everyone else, I am looking forward to your further postings.

Hello Kaeth, tonguello and Ras,

Thank you very much for your kind replies, they are very much appreciated. I am also a fan of the surveyor shot kaeth, it was more luck than judgement though! I was quite surprised how it turned out when I viewed it on the computer. The scraper has been in my collection for quite a while now Ras, it is quite big but not as big as I would of liked. Unfortunately when I made it the wheel I used where as big as they got for Playmobil. It is only recently that we have had the huge dumper truck wheels. I think I am going to add several sets of those wheels to my collection when finances allow !
