I think you needed this for your train.
However, it will be an addiction to wanting to get more Western sets. I got that train station, no box, the other summer and I have been been fighting the urge to get more and more western. The only thing that has stopped me is it is not readily available AND there are so many more sets to get in the mean time that I want.
-
Wesley: Same with me...But the hole western / train thing is too good. The funny thing is that i started also again to watch western classics like rio bravo , the good the bad the ugly etc. and i was totaly into the whole western thing again. i do like the western dioramas from the 80´s / early 90´s ( catalogues / packshots ) the most - after medieval. so when working on the other dioramas i had so much ideas for the western world that i had to expand the collection - there will be a big western diorama !
-
ps : i started working on some costum western houses ( hotel / bank / saloon etc ) i made out of wood and the results are really good. this was also a argument the expand the western world. the train station will be a highlight and i was just lucky to get it in this condition ( like new ! ) the price was more than reasonable as it was the 8th bidding i did with a lower budget and was the lucky winner of the ebay auction.

I love Rio Bravo! One of my all time favorites. I grew up on westerns.
You definitely have to have this set if you want to reproduce The Last Train From Gun Hill. :yup:
-
after i saw "once upon a time in the west " ( for the first time !!! ) 8 weeks ago - there was no stopping for the whole wild west / train thing for me...

Nice! :)9
This is an excellent set!
Very cool! :wow:

That's a great set, Skywalker! :cowboy: I really wish I had bought more Western buildings like this one, the church/school, the ranch, the drug-store, the water tower, the windmill, etc. My Western town is pretty pitiful with only a few buildings. I wish Playmobil would start up their Western theme again.

There is the Antex company in South America (Argentina, to be exact) that still makes the olde western buildings. You could really fill out a town with them! They sell on ebay and if you search on this site you can find some discussions about them.

Fantastic set, I am sure you will enjoy it.

yes but only the buildings are good, clickies and accesories are just %&#%$".
and IMO overpriced.
-
thx for the nice feedback
i must say that the best western houses i saw were customs build out of several houses with selfmade stickers etc. but like i said i will build them out of wood .makes more fun and safes a lot of money
-
I think that's a great idea! You can make it look how you want, then.
Any idea of what you wanted them to look like?
-
Wesley: the front will look like the originals but with a second floor. i am planning some new stores like a gun shop etc. there are a lot of ideas for a saloon - i have some custom playmos ready for that. still looking for a piano for a decent price :(...
the landscape will also be a big part of the project and i am really looking forward to a quiet weekend to start...
