Title: Catalogs
Post by: Rasputin on January 13, 2011, 19:27:24
HI

I got an order from Playmobil the other day and it came with the new 2011 catalog. The one that was interesting was this years Christmas one that featured a red dragon named Bodo, In each page he was talking in  comic book styled text bubbles . The other thing was that at the top of each page was a red box with a mini story. I missed last years Christmas catalog so do not know if this is a new thing.

The other things new I saw in the main catalog were red, yellow, green & a blue panda

Hey, thanks for telling us about it Ras. I want those colorful koalas for my zoo gift shop. I was looking at the interactive catalog on playmobil.de, and noticed it has interesting features. Hard to explain, but everyone should check it out. http://www.playmobil.de/on/demandware.store/Sites-DE-Site/de_DE/Link-Page?cid=ONLINE_CATALOG&src=OCSC

Hi

Well for Playmobil's sake I sure hope they do, I mean they are advertising it in the US catalogs add-on section

The other thing I have never seen before is they are now giving the Knights 4 pages and same with the Top Agents .

A very nice looking catalog

Hi

It is a "Includes a zoo Keeper and a dice game with four colorful Koalas as a free gift"

I can try to take a picture but as you see in my earlier post a flash of a glossy magazine turns our horrible.

Well, I got the christmas catalog with my last order a couple of months ago, and what i noticed was that the translation into english was very poor. The things the dragon was saying in the little bubbles sounded quite stupid.

Hi

I was not aware of any intelligent dragons. I think it is a more accurate depiction of what a simple brained animal would be saying. You should here what my wife says our German Shepard is thinking  and better yet did you see the BBC voice over for wild animals

It will do that until you reach $20 in your cart. The message is on the home page to the right

Yep, Ras is right. If you have less than $20 worth in your cart, it still says you need to order 150 for free shipping, but once you hit $20, it changes.

Is this the koala game you mean?

I got it before Christmas here in the UK when I ordered extra floors for the school.
I like the klicky, but wasn't really sure what to do with the koalas  ???  however the idea of using them in a gift shop for the zoo is a good one.
I was hoping to get the pirate one with the mini sea monster!  :-[

I had to work and I just got home and you've all been talking about dragons, and colorful koalas, and cool stuff while I was gone!

First of all, OF COURSE dragons are intelligent.  I collect Playmo, don't I?   That definitely shows a high degree of intelligence!

I love the new game with the koalas.  As much as I also love the pirate game with the little three headed sea monsters I'm getting rather tired of all the barrels.

And finally, since Bonnie has 10 pirate games and doesn't want all of them and Elaine has NO pirate games and really wants the little sea monster...  I can envision (since I am a very wise dragon) that there might be a trade that could be done there.   :)

Time for dinner now.  (How sad is it that the first thing I do when I get home from work is check for new posts?)

You are indeed a very smart dragon.  ;) I was thinking the same thing. Elaine, I think I still have a sealed one, so let me know if you are interested in a trade. I'm very sorry to tell you all that Chris has used a few of them for target practice with his pellet gun.  :0 Those are the only klickys he has ever shot; it can't harm them because they are already dead. Duh!  ::) He usually uses L&@* men.  ;D

I'm glad it worked for you Gaston! Congrats on the diving bell.  :)9

I just received the 2011 US catalog with an order, and the Egypt disk, and the Ghost Pirate game but not the Christmas insert.

I think they'll switch to the panda game in February after the postage discount ends, but it may also depend on stock of the Ghost Pirate. I too have many unopened ones.
