Hi all!!!
After Bill proposing the idea, I am opening this thread so that we can all share our collections of Playmobil Dragons!!!
I have most of them scattered around, so it will take me sometime for a proper photo... But please, whoever is ready to show us a pic, go for it!!!
I suggest we take either an overall picture of all our dragons, or take group pictures of the same type dragons!!!
We can also show them in a diorama, or in a funny or in a adventurous situation!!!!
:) :) :)
-
Good idea. I have no dragon, but I appreciate you all's effort sharing your collections with us PF.
-
Great thread Wolf Knight. I will take some pictures and get some up this afternoon
-
I've a call out to my dragons to come home for a photo shoot! They'll be here shortly ;)!
-
I don't think my PM village liked this thread so much..... :-[
(http://)
(I hope the pics are okay. I'm not too tech-savvy)
-
Nice little medieval town!! I love it   and your dragons... hope they are in good terms with Santa Claus!!! ;)

Yes they do count Luis!! Even one dragon is worth looking at ;)

Well, technically Nessie is not a dragon... But why not? She is so cute and its always great to see her!!! :D
-
My dragon clan! I hope you enjoy them! Don't worry about the dragon's with their chains on, they're doing so voluntarily for picture purposes, & I think they're a little kinky ;)!

The whole clan.

The eyes on this one are frightening!

Scary isn't it?

Yeap! These are great and indeed the best dragons playmobill ever produced!! They did fit well with the whole magic theme back in the 90's! I love how each dragon's eyes are painted differently! The red on has small flames, while the black on is like he is trying to hypnotise you! The green one...oh the green one is adorable!

I never noticed all their eyes are different! So cute!

Ooh, the black one is quite ominous isn't he. Are you sure he doesn't need chains? :uhoh: Great collection!

Well, I think they might get coals next Christmas for this one, but something tells me they won't mind getting them ;)

It's their choice to wear chains if they want to! I'm afraid a couple of them have bondage issues, if you know what I mean ;)!

I have a couple of photos to share.
I was going to get together the whole dragon herd together to have them pose for a group photo but some of them objected to being displayed like that. (They have personal identity issues from being chained up too long before they came to live with me. I have to respect their concerns about dragon privacy.)
So these are just the custom dragons that live with me. The first photo shows the beautiful purple dragons that were painted by Mr Painter Elf and the baby dragons that he painted so that I could have more than just gold babies.
The second photo is of a very special dragon that my daughter painted for me when I said that I really wished that there was a dragon with flowers.

WOW! :o You have some real gems in your dragon family, MaMaDragon! I'm sorry to hear about some of your other adopted babies having terrible issues with their past :(! Are they seeking therapy :hmm:?

Dragons are sooooooooooooo coooooooooooooooooooool
I have all dragons except the US-chicken-dragon that was not available in Germany.
And I fell in love with the small dragons after their release in different colours. Then I discovered that you can cross parts- and now I´m totally into dragon-breeding
But have a look:

Except for the large green dragon and Nessie, the only dragons we have are:
the red one from the 4160 advent calendar - like Martina's red one but with a grey underside
(http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac300/skypurr/reddragon.jpg)
and the miniature toy dragon from the 4891 Christmas market set
(http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac300/skypurr/minidragon.jpg)
oh - and the dragons on the 3841 dragon's temple set (do they count?)

-
Lot's of great dragons, everybody! I'm ashamed to say i don't have a single one.... yet. ;)
Mamadragon, your purple dragons are just lovely!! Such a beautiful rich color! And I love the flowered one, too. Very cute!

So..... I see form MArtina's picture that there are big AND small chicken dragons.... I didn't know that. Could some expert make a list of dragons with pics? :-[
-
Great thread sofar guys...I will take a picture from my collections once I am home again this weekend!
So..... I see form MArtina's picture that there are big AND small chicken dragons.... I didn't know that. Could some expert make a list of dragons with pics? :-[
AFAIK there is only one Chicken Dragon and it's the one from 5840 (http://playmodb.org/setpics/5840.jpg). I am right in my thinking?
-
but in martina's ppic there is a big green chicken dragon.... and a small green one and a small blue one. aren't those chicken dragons too? Im so confused!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(
-
This is my favourite:
My favourite too......good job!!

The one from 5840 is very different. It's head is different and the wings unattach quite easily. Therefore I think it's called chicken dragon!
There is a thread somewhere about it...let me dig for a bit.
-
Here is a topic very similar to this one by Gus
http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=3300.0
And here is a topic from Rasputin on how to fix the wings
http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=2504.0

Gis is right Gaston! Chicken dragon applies only to the 5840 red dragon... ;)

It does resemble a chicken...
Thanks for posting this one about how to fix the wings. I will have to try it. Even new out of the box the wing would not stay in at all. :eh?:
-
I think all the dragons except the newest ones are on animobil. That's a really good resource for finding that type of list, Gaston.

Great I'll look there.... this confuses me so much.
isn't the green one in martina's pic exactly like the red one that Gis mentioned? Is there a "pulling out my hair" smiley?
-
Yes, the dragons confuse me very much. There seem to be so many different ones!
-

And I don't have any, and I've never seen any in real life. only in pics. I just now discoverd because of this thread that there are different sizes!
Anyway..... I'll keep investigating.
-
I don't have any either.... yet.
-
The big green one is the same as the big red one from the dragon-tower 4835 - Great Dragon Castle (http://www.playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=4835&pics=on) . It is available only from DS http://www.playmobil.de/on/demandware.store/Sites-DE-Site/de_DE/Product-Show?pid=7481&cgid=Ds_Ritter . The small blue-red dragon is also only available from DS http://www.playmobil.de/on/demandware.store/Sites-DE-Site/de_DE/Product-Show?pid=7480&cgid=Ds_Ritter .
-
I really like the color of that blue one.
-
so the big green one and the big red one are both chicken dragons....or only the red one because it is red? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???
I thought they were chicken dragons because they didn't have arms...just wings. So the small one should be chicken dragons too...
:-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\
-
Only this one is called "chicken dragon": 5840 - Dragon Rock (http://www.playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?set=5840)
This dragon is totally different and of very poor quality. It is only available in the US-market.
-
It does look like a chicken.

I'd forgotten about the miniature red dragon that came with the knights castle micro set.
I haven't got it though as it was missing from my set.

I like those sets! :)9
-
I just LOVE the micro sets. I want them all, but I don't have any yet. I've almost bought them on ebay so many times, but there's always something else more pressing.
-
They are very cute! I have the dragon/knights one..... But the micro worlds are low on the priority list.

Be careful, they're discontinued, & will eventually be difficult to find complete, or MISB!

Yes, unfortunately I'm finding out the hard way that if you don't gobble it up while it's available you might be out of luck!
-
The prices are rising steadily on these. They're going for $20 or more now. Just a few months ago you could easily find one for 15.
-
i want to show you all pictures of my playmobil dragons and monsters ( over 12 in total ) and also the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons monsters and dragons that fit perfectnly but my collection is so far away its really upsetting i cant access it daily and enjoy it ... very upsetting indeed... :'( :'( :'( :'(

That needs to be remedied, Giorginetto :yup:! It can cause depression if you can't access your collection daily, momentarily, quickly, etc.!
-
Yep. I went through that for a while during the remodel. The pirate on my keychain just wasn't enough after a while!
-
Hi
I will get a picture as soon as some of our dragons return from their raids at the boys grandparents house .
One thing that really bothers me about the Playmobil dragons is their inability to grab things with their feet. I have always wanted to swoop down from the sky into an enemy castle and carry things off like chests of money or damsels even a soldier to be fed to the offspring.
Some think like a working hawks foot. Opened up all the way it would still be able to stand but then you could close it to grab klickies

I just updated Animobil a couple of days ago and fixed up the Dragon category (thanks Frank!)
Here is the infamous Chicken Dragon (Wyvern type 1) on the left and the 3 first type dragons on the right
(http://animobil.info/wit-icons/dragons.jpg)
Here is Dragon type 2 - thanks to Martin
(http://animobil.info/wit-icons/dragonlgbr.jpg)
The micro dragon is of the first type just very small. I don't have the green one yet, but here's the red one
(http://animobil.info/wit-icons/dragonredmicro.jpg)
The rest are wyverns - they don't have arms.
Large Type 1 is shown above in the group photo.
Then there is a small version in 4 colors, I just have the red one so far but the others have been shown in the thread already
(http://animobil.info/wit-icons/dragonred4.jpg)
Large wyvern type 2 is the other new one from the Dragon Knights series
again thanks to Martin on this one. It's definitely an improvement over the first version.
I expect to fill in the rest of the dragons over the next year as they become available and I have the funds. If anyone wants to take photos fro me to use on Animobil of the missing ones just pose the dragon/wyvern next to a klicky in a plain color background - grey if possible. I will credit you on the Animobil page. This is true for any animal you may find that you have and I don't have up yet. At the moment I am missing 54 animals, some of which I have images for and most I don't. That sounds like a lot until you take into account that my recent count came up with a total of 648 animal variations on the site.

HI
It looks like your chicken dragons wings are on backwards.

Tim, I love your dragon collection!!!
-
Tim tahnks for your pics! I have the dragons you are missing so I'll give it a shot with the pics!

Thanks Tim! That is great! Now I can really see they are very different form each other. I like them all except the first design.... sorry Bill ;D
-

Oh well,....there is no accounting for taste, Gaston! That's why there is so many types of the same things, like soda's for instance! (but the original dragon's are the best!) ;)
-
Great thread!
I only have one green dragon from the magic series - we love him and want more.
-
We got a couple more dragons the other day in a couple of the dragon knights sets and I forgot one of the dragons before. I'll see if Aaron will set up a scene for us...he is more clever and creative about these things than I am :)

The elder dragons Anomander (green) Draconus (black) and Kilmandaros (red) have called all their children to Dragon Rock so that they can witness the birth of their new brother...!

Which set is the small black Wyvern in?
-
I had to look it up on my own website (hinty hint)
it's 4006 - SuperSet Drachenfels (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=4006) a brand new one
-
Wonderful collection and picture Panos! :)9 Really nice! :camera:

Which set is the small black Wyvern in?
As tim says Martin! And here is the review ;) ! http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=6680.0
-
Thanks guys! This set is not available yet in the US, or even advertised on the Playmobil US website. Missed the review, I'll go over now and enjoy it!
-
HI
One thing that makes the new 7481 (large Wyvern) one of my favorites is the flight profile you can pose it in. The body and feet are poseable in such a way to really give it a streamline image. The old ones seem to not even be able to fly with their undersized wings (easy imagination solution) and they have a strange flight pose. The large black ones neck is so crooked he looks better at eating things than flying but he does have the most beautiful wings.
I see that the Nessie was mentioned as a dragon type creature so I am surprised nobody mentioned the 3 headed beast, our youngest's favorite. The one thing I find annoying is its skin flaps (or what ever you call those) keep falling out. He is the kids favorite bath monster.

I was browsing through this thread, read the latest comments and moved on and then thought - wait! paged back - You lured Berkwit into posting! That's more rare than a mint in box Mountie.

I even based the name of my band (and a lot of our songs, and the title of our debut EP etc) on those books, so I just couldn't resist.
A pic of the dragons/wyverns currently on the top shelf of my computer desk (just ignore the meerkats, they crawl in everywhere, they're almost worse than squirrels :o):

Meerkats are related to mongooses, mongooses eat snakes, snakes are serpents, serpents = dragons, so dragons are a bit wary around these critters... ;D (I'm sorry for my disturbed logic, but I couldn't resist answering that. ;))
-
Just like a hyena running from a house cat, right? I've actually seen a video of that once.

Best one ever.

I like the black one too! :o I'm partial to the old style, but after seeing the size compared to a Klicky, it's enormous! Thank you showing this excellent item,....another item added to my want list :-\!

Here are Burny, Lindy and little Hugo! ;)
I have all the other dragons, too.
But this is my Dragon Family, who takes part in my picture stories.

I got my first dragon yesterday, the big black one.... I LOVE IT!

Now that I look closer,....my original red dragon does have more feminine eyes. I guess that explains why additional dragons keep showing up! :-[

Sorry, Luis, forgot to answer! :-[
The baby dragon is from a grab box in a warehouse.
It is really charming, I have it in other colors, too.
Unfortunately, they are not easy to find.
Sorry for the late reply!
