As seen in the Simral and the Santa story
This has a bunch of custom work on stock Playmo parts.
I will be posting more images tomorrow showing comparison of the original parts with the custom versions.
This involved spray painting mostly
I also decided the building would be permanent for this use so I filled in the System X holes with putty and painted over the whole thing. The silver detailing on the supports was all done by hand. The glittery tower tops were done by painting with white acrylic paint and then sprinkling a clear sparkly glitter onto the wet paint and gently pressing it in.

That's all I have for today. More when I get a chance to do a little more photography.
The snow base by the way is a large piece of white fleece - a synthetic acrylic material used in clothing that I got at the fabric store. The background hills in the story are created by wadding up plastic bags and putting them under the fleece. I moved the bags around when doing photos for the story so it would look like you were in different places as it moved along.

It's just gorgeous, Tim!! I love th glitter effect, and I like the bunny and dove fountains. I want one of those peacock thrones so bad, but i cant afford the whole castle, and I can't seem to find a cheap lot that has it in it.
-
Wow, that is so beautiful! I love the colors. Thanks for sharing with us! :xmascheer:

When you do, can we have some close-ups of the throne, please? ;D I love what you've done with it.

This custom is amazing!!!! A perfect demonstration that a little bit of paint and a lot of imagination makes a whole world of diference!!!!
I LOVE IT!!!!!
-
very nice!
If I show this to my daughter, she will ask me to do the same for her !

Wow! Tim this is great!
I usually don't like silver spray paint cause it doesn't shine as real chromes but here it fits in so well in this snowy/cold atmosphere! It looks like a thin layer of frost is covering the whole furniture. Chilly!
Two polar bears guarding the entrance would be nice too! I know of a knight who could become the king for your queen, though I cannot say more about him for now... :shhhh:
Cheers,
Arnaud

Breathtaking Tim!!
My daughter got the set for her birthday, although she'd will sure love this, I don't think she's ready to have it get this treatment.
PS This reminds me of the song Ice Queen by Within Temptation (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoQIFG0oub4)

Looks stunning, Tim! 8-)
The silvery colours and the glitter (or whatever that stuff is on the conical pieces) look perfect for this winter setting.

The color scheme is very evocative of ice. I feel cold just looking at it.

Sorry, I thought I'd posted here weeks ago Tim - (I keep pressing 'preview' and then back instead of 'post' :-[ )
This is really beautiful, :wow:
I love the combination of the silver and white, and the glittery tower roofs look as though they are sparkling with ice and snow.
I'm not keen on the pink and mauve of my palace, it makes me want to try something like this with mine!
