Like I said, not being a native German speaker "it's not perfect" on any level, but I only hope it helps a little! If you want to do a better list being an actual German speaker, I can always remove mine, Sir Pleamo, I don't mind at all :).

It's one of my favorite sets in years. :'( That's ok, I have one already, and time to get more. It just makes me think maybe they will discontinue this whole theme sooner than I would like. I hope not! Unless they replace it with an Australian outback theme. I'd be ok with that. :yup:

That Royal knight with cannon (3316 in the list) is from the old Castle so it shouldn't even be in the list IMO as it has already been discontinued for a while.
The Hyena's and all other new Animals are available from DS. They might have not reached US DS just yet though.

Next time try this: Go to www.google.com click on language tools on the right side in small letters. Go to the selection of Translate text and choose from German to English then downsize that entire screen & sign back online again & go back to the site you want to translate. Click & drag so that the entire subject matter is highlighted. Go to the top of your screen under tools & click on copy, downsize that screen & go back to the google translation program & click on tools again then put the curser in the translation subject matter box, & click on the tools section again & click on paste. Click on translate & the topic should appear to the right, translated into the desired language ;)!

my interest is in the ghost pirate ship and the 4290 ship being retired..... so does that mean any new pirate ships/themes coming our way at all? Seems like the ghost pirate theme wasn't out that long.... did it tank out? will they make more pirates?

How do they select which sets will be discontinued? It is only a matter of market success or what is it?
I noticed the last Specials to be out on the market are first to be out OF the market. They haven't been around even a year.....

Im glad the ghost pirates are on their way out - good riddance as far as im concerned. Not so glad about the 4290 - currently the pirate theme is quite tiny, and i wouldnt want it to go the same way as the western one. re the specials, i agree with you. why is the conquistador already being withdrawn? maybe PM received a number of complaints from people of aztec/mayab descent? ::) ::) ::)

I highly doubt that would be it - most people of that descent are quite staunchly Catholic and the people who would complain about that are those of primarily European descent.

Yeah, it came out fine. That's a lot of sets, including some i like. I'm sad to see the sunroom 5281 go. I'll just have to hurry up and get it this year.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Playmobil soccer sets supposedly get the axe years ago (but didn't really go)?
You know, I really love pirates and I really did try to like the ghost pirates, but I just could never get myself to liking them at all. The three headed sea serpent is cool - but that's because of the serpent, not the rider. Hence, I never bothered to get any. Wonder if I'll regret not have gotten any?
I wish they would have tried to reenergise the Dinosaur line, instead of just letting it stagnate ...

Hey Wesley, you have to at least get 4800 ghost pirate crew... I wasn't very keen on the Ghost Pirates either but I did buy that set just to have some of them. And you can always hope that the other sets will show up at Winners/Homesense in a year or 2!

I'm sad to see those Egypt sets go ('specially since I never bought any of them), but there really is no place for me to fit them into my current Playmobil sets. And then there's all the physical room they'd take up. I need to just stick to my animal/habitat collecting. :-[
And I too am going to voice my bewilderment at the retiring of those hyenas. I got all of the Africa river sets (plus the ostriches) for Christmas this year and noticed that the hyenas were the only box that didn't have a shiny Oppenheim Best Toy Award sticker. Personally, I thought the hyena figures were nicely detailed and well made with good articulation too. All four of their legs move as well as their neck and jaw which should mean plenty of play possibilities. Why the hyena rejection? ???
