 Hi all this is my last big project this year. I started working on this at the same time as the Bistro and it got put to one side while it was finished off. So I've just spent the weekend completeting my fairy tree house, mostly just building furniture for it. That and wishing I had more spare parts..... Can you ever have enough spares? I had to build my own furniture as apart from a throne made from leaves theres no other natural looking furniture from PM.
The fairies only really have garden sets in Playmobil, I know there's a small palace gazebo? Not sure what you'd call it but I always thought it seemed odd having fairies that are small enough to wear flowers for hats in the same building as "normal" sized people. I hope you understand what I mean there?
Anyway soon as I laid eyes on this tree house I wanted to decorate it for the PM fairies. What do you think? I think it's brilliant and fits in well with the bunnies giant toadstool house (see what I mean about the scale of the buildings?)
The base at the front has a nice pond big enough for the lily pad fairy. With a ladder on the right and a slide on the left.
Above is the first floor with the main doorway and a walkway around it.
Then above this is a gazebo on the left and a patio with my home made chairs, on the right with a seating area above.
As you can see I've decorated all the railings with leaves and berries etc, and added extra PM flowers on the roof and in an arch over the pond.

As you can see the tree house has four floors, each of these I painted to look like the tree had been cut into.
The ground floor is big enough to hold the fairy carriage, rickshaw, wheelbarrow and unicorns.
I did the first floor as a sitting room with the thrones and a table I made from some tree parts.
Next is the bathroom, with mirrored washstand, bath and screen.
And finally the bedroom! So not a lot of furniture etc inside but it means it can be added to in the future depending on what PM brings out.
Oh I hadn't forgotten the best bit of coures is the fairy lights

She bought it and painted more details on it, like the wood circles, which are also briliant btw Emma!!! A really nice touch!!! Make the theme look more realistic!!!
-
That is awesome, Emma! It's just perfect. I love how you painted the tree rings on each floor. But my favorite thing is all the furniture you made. Very creative! I think the bathtub and sink are my favorites; such good ideas, and then the leaves for a screen! And the beds were so perfect, with all the flowers on the side. Amazing work! :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow:

So incredibly cool! I would love to make something like this for my daughter next Christmas (as it would probably take a year for me to make!) ;D
-
You dont stop amazing me Emma. I was already wondering where you find all thew time for all these things you do and this was also done in the meantime...WOW
This is really on the wishlist of all daughters here I think it's so cool :)
Thanks for sharing!!
Do you have pictures of the original treehouse?

I think it’s a good hing fo you that my 4 year old doesn’t know where you live- She’s a little klepto.
-
WOW! Words escape me! :inlove:
The Fairies have always been one of my favourite Playmobil themes, so I am totally in awe and extremely covetous of this beautiful house you have customized!
It's absolutely magnificent, Emma! Thanks for sharing your brilliant ideas and all of the lovely photos. :*)

Thank you, Daniela was correct I bought just a plain old oak treehouse and did it up. Thanks for the link Daniela and so glad you like it. It was a challenge to come up with the furniture, but I'll have a better idea next time I make some.

Ahhh she's not the only one I've run out of room, so no more building until I've gotten rid of some stuff. Sad to see them go put I like making things more than just collecting them.
So with luck this will be off to a new home......

Well, I have a volunteer to ease your burden… ¡She’s Ø4 years old, and even has some other things in common with you! :D
-
This is a beautiful tree house, Emma! :)
-
Wonderful work, Emma! Your creative imagination seems boundless as well as your artistic ability - the interior painting of the tree is amazing. I like the way you've incorporated the Playmobil greenery and flowers into the scene, both as foliage and in other ways.
What are the chairs you created made from, please?
Clever thinking, too, by Sylvanian Families - surely that oak tree is really a "treeified" windmill.
-
I LOVE it. Adorable.

Amazing Emma!!! :wow: :wow: :wow:

Ahh you've started her off young collecting then, or is she just an excuse to buy yourself the fairy things?

Ah yes I'd never thought about it like that but your right about the windmill (and they've bought out a very nice one of those as well!)
I used the thrones from the advent calender inside and outside they're the seat from the rickshaw stuck on the brown plant base from the old gardeb superset. Sort of a big fat C shape.
I'd have done more things but I need more spares and I'd spent enough lately from DS 8}

Both.:D

Wow! This is absolutely beautiful! I don't care for the fairy theme, but you elevated the theme to the level of art. Magnificent!
-
It is very beautiful.
It made me look for one of those at the store and then I saw the price tag ... $150 for just the building with no accessories or figures or anything. Here, they are known as 'Calico Critters' for some reason, instead of Sylvanian Families, but I have gotten some of their stuff at Winners (discount outlet that when they have it sells it for about half the price) and it works perfectly with Playmobil. Just wish it was cheaper as that would be perfect for my daughters and all the Fairy theme I got for them.
-
Yes, I've been thinking about getting some of their houses to use with playmobil. I had calico critters when I was a kid and I loved them. I'm happy to see they're making a comeback. By the way, I think calico critters is made by sylvanian families. It's a division of it, I guess.

Wow, this is magical, Emma. So many charming details, like the table made out of tree parts.
-
Emma, I adore this custom / set up. Thanks for sharing :)
I think the working lights piece was a very original idea
I'd seen some other Sylvanian sets before and I have to admit I've felt attracted to it :-[ :shhhh:
I didn't know this set though - in the picture of the link Daniela posted I can't see the big sunflower or the big mushrooms...are they from a Sylvanian set as well?

I absolutely know what you mean here - I've thought the same thing as well because I'm a fan of this theme. However, given the presence of unicorns I think the fairies are not suppossed to be small, but maybe all the opossite: the flowers, etc are jumbo size
-
Maybe unicorns are very tiny, and that's why you've never seen one!

I was mistaken. I was at that store a couple days ago and checked out the price (they had a 20 percent off sale) and the regular price is not $150, but $239!!! :o
-
Amazing and beautiful!

Wow...be sure to let us know. I'd be a certain little girl's hero for life if I got hold of something like this. ;D
Absolutely amazing.

:o :o $239! I just looked that up and it worked out at £153. For once something that's dearer in the US than here!

Yes it's gone to a Lady in America with Nelsons Column, and I'm working on a second for the Lady who bought my French Bistro over here in the UK.
Thanks every one for having a look

I added the mushrooms and flowers myself, the original had a large yellow parasol which I turned into the sunflower.

Emma,
Your fairy treehouse is beyond amazing! Using the oak treehouse as the base was a brilliant idea for showcasing the fairies.
The only place I can find the treehouse online now is at Amazon, and it is priced at around $500. including shipping.
Glad you shared it with the rest of us so we can see what is possible!
Cheers, Pgal

wow thats gorgeous

I know this is a really old thread but Playmobil has been introducing so many more fairy sets I wanted to pinpoint that Amazon has discounted this tree house quite a bit. It is now $88.49.
