Title: Medieval City - version 3
Post by: Giorginetto on October 31, 2010, 09:07:19
Finally, finally , finally i have started setting up my entire medieval collection for the third time in my life , I have now  completed three elevated planes , wooden thick cardboard sitting on large plastic boxes that can be moved around and allow me to stand on the cardboard, carefully of course    , covered with green ( and will get some blue) material similar to the one used in billiard tables. One measures approx 3m x 4m = 12 m2 , the other adjacent to it at a 90 deg angle 2.5m x 2m= 5m2 and the third which is a study table at the playmo room is approx 1.2m2 . total surface area therefore is approx. 18m2 . The first 12m2 will be used for the medieval city, with enough space around for an attacking army etc, the second adjacent board at a gamma angle will be used for the large forest, the dragon knights castle , merry men and magic part of the forest , the third area will be used for vikings. I think i will be exceptionally tight with space but very soon pictures will follow . Once i set everything up i will take pictures , lots of them, videos - proper this time and will keep this set for a while, before setting my roman, gaul, egyptians next and then the western in late 2011 i hope. I shall be getting  some more klickies and a bit more steck , i shall use the 4 way connectors i bought and set up a magnificent large kings castle and  city with over 40 steck houses in it . Pictures of progress will also be taken , and please if anyone can source me a 5783 I  need one desperately for my set up and cant find one !!! Please help fellow playmo fans !!!

I will set my entire tree collection with over 100 trees, almost all my steck, in my city  the entire market with all the vegetables and fruit and fish and meat and live stock parts i recently bought , all the mediaval houses, the nuremberg guard  the entire kings army and i really hope it will be worth to look at . Thank you .  ;D

My entire playmobil collection is stored and will be set in a storage room in  a city outside Athens ( top secret which one ) as i have a flat there and at the basement 3 storage rooms, the largest of which is full of books and playmobil !!!! It will be set there hopefylly very soon so that pictures and a proper video is filmed. I am also thinking to create a photo story , and bring back to life my oldert story from when i was about 12 . A collaboration between the dragon knights whose king hates the emperor , with the merry men in the forrest who are at war with the king ( thieves ) and with the help of the vikings ( these include the gauls as their light foot soldiers) to attacke the kings city during a knights tournament. Also as it happens the yellow dragon knights king and queen are wizards they will employ some darnk magic and dragons in their attacked but will have to face the good magic in the forrest who are allies to the emperor. If i find that castle i am after i will create anotehr small castle full of siege machines and engineering that will be allies to the yellow dragons and help the attack with 5 siege towers etc etc... Well i hope to make my very basic childhood plot more complicated and take pictures of the lot . Last time i did that plot there was a total of about 150 soldiers now it will be over 1300 !!!

Giorginetto City!!!!  ;D ;D ;D ;D Can't wait!!!

Its gonna be the biggest playmo creation of mine of all time. Stillto decide if i go singel or double heigh walls, i want to use the siehge towers for a meaningfull siege so probably go for single height walls , will usew the 4 way connectors also and create some awesome inner walls etc etc , The Mediaval Citadel and City will be approx 12m2 .....

YOU CAN USE THE SIEGE TOWER WITH A DOUBLE HEIGHT WALL.JUST USE THE TOP FLOOR TO CLIMB THE WALLS!
ALSO USE TWO LADDER CONNECTED TOGETHER.YOU CAN USE THE PLAYMO CONNECTOR OR SOME KIND WIRE(I PREFER THIS WAY).
I AM SO ANXIOUS TO SEE YOUR CITY GEORGE ;D ;D 8-)

The little plastic toast shaped  brown ( usually light brown / tan ) plastic pieces that fit e.g on top of steck castle walls to ' fill' the gaps when floors etc not used ....

I have found playmo toasts in my briefcase , wife put them in the briefcase for revenge as i keep putting klickies in her car, in draws, in the kitchen and many unexpected places and probwbly i go too far with putting klickies all over our home... .

Also she has put toasters in my suit pockets , she know i wont be throwing them away and she wouldnt do that with klickies as they are too precious  to be taken outside our family premises...

From an engineering perspective, toasts are a must for steck buildings especially if building two levels and more high. Not only they fill gaps which aesthetically look horrid if not filled ( still no as bad as system x or clip castles though   ) but also give strengh and rigidness in steck castles and are a must ... The steck system is the work of genious , bring it and all its parts , incl toasts back I say !!!!
