Title: Box Security Stickers
Post by: flatcat on October 11, 2010, 08:32:45
I have never come across a sticker quite like this (or quite as big as this) to stop people opening the boxes. It makes sense as I have sometimes seen open boxes on shelves >:( >:( >:(

Not very good for those of us who like to keep the boxes

I don't suppose they would look so bad on the larger boxes, but on Special's boxes

they look nylon-ish. look pretty easy to come off to me.
but yes, i like to keep my boxes so if I were to buy those I'd make sure the stickers would come off entirely.  0)

I should imagine that they would be made difficult to get off, stopping people from picnching the box's contents in the store. They probably come off but pull the top layer of picture off

Not to mention that for someone not as familiar with playmobil, it would make it hard to see what you're getting.

How is that going to stop someone opening the box, the box is usually opened from the top or sides.

If they don't want them opening they should but them into those plastic security cases and they can use them over and over again.

From those I have seen, the reinforced plastic sticker wraps all around the box, needing something sharp to break the seals

Are these security procedures done within the store, or is Playmobil doing this themselves ????

It’s done at the factory.

I think it must be done at the store.  I did a web search for ITS Printing and Tagging (that what the tag says at the bottom) and found this:
http://www.i-tag.co.uk/
Since the auction is on the UK Ebay site and the security tag company is a UK company it seems reasonable that it was a store security tag.

That makes sense, since not all Playmobil dealers worldwide have the same security systems. It reminds me of clothes stores here in the USA that have security tags on merchandise that is required to be removed by a cashier to prevent the exit door alarm from activating! The tags are secured to the merchandise by the floor sales clerks before being put on display.

yep, I agree with Bill and Ronastoo. It's something done by that specific store.

Yes I know the type you mean they are mainly on large boxes with electrical stuff in them.

If you enlarge the image you can see the edges of the sticker the corner you can clearly see in the Y of the word Playmobil. Also there is no sign of the label on the back of the box It just looks like a square patch to me.

So ... who's going to buy it to check if it comes off without leaving a mark?
