Is it really? The pic's not clear at all ???
Is it chromed?
-
I think shirona is right, but I would have expected it to have been this:
http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-20-9450
a staff of office for the tournament's referee.

no no it's the one shirona posted ;) many good memories of this sword and the klicky that holds it when i was a kid that's why i remember it perfectly :)
Is it chromed?
no it's it's the simple gold paint that playmobil uses in all her gold parts not chromed ;)
-
If you press "STRG" and klick 2 or 3 times "+" the pic will get bigger. I'm really sure it's the golden sword, no chrome. Compare with the backside of the box, it also makes the most sense! ;)

OK! Many thanks - I was ruining my eyesight trying to strain enough to be able to see what was what. I have that part missing from the set I bought. It only ever appeared in two sets, according to PMDB. Hmmm.

That fact is not very helpful is it?
::) :'( :)
Meanwhile, this morning I finally made some time for putting together the 3666 my wife got me for my birthday:
It looks complete, and it also came with one of those old ghosts (great for re enacting scenes from Hamlet), but its two drawbridge chains are too short to work properly ::)
Still, I'm really happy with it and looking forward to buying some more. Only thing is I don't have anywhere to put it, so I will have to dismantle it again this week and put it away until I have a bigger house (like ... 30 years from now ::)).
;D ;D ;D

Congratulations on your new 3666!!! Welcome to a whole new world!!! :) :) :)
Space is a big problem with steck sets.... :( :( :(I have 12 3666 and no space to build something good.... The main castle and gate of my project are in the middle of the livingroom and I am thinking seriously these days to dismantle them and pack them away...
I am hoping for a bigger house, sometime in the not so near future, so I can manage to set everything up.... :(

Congratulations on a wonderful birthday present, Bolingbroke, and a wonderful wife who gives you such presents.
Edit: Ooops! got confused here between birthdays! :-[ :-[ :-[ Thank you Markus (shirona33) for pointing my slip out. :wow: :wow: :wow:
Panos, no house is EVER big enough for Playmobil and especially Steck.
-
At least you can dismantle these ones. With the newer sets it's a bit more problematic.
Yesterday I also received the Egyptian robbers' house as a belated birthday present. It's a really, really nice set and it can also be used for such things as Romans dioramas. I plan to use it for an eventual Jesus diorama - it can be his workshop or something.
Now that I think of it, since the roof can be removed, it could also be used a diorama for that chapter in the gospels, where they lower the sick man from the roof ::)

   That is true Gordon!!!
The egyptian house is a very nice set, although the catalogue names it a tomb ::) .... Anywas, I don't know how and where to pack it away as I threw away its box...

This sword also appeatred in goldwith a different part number http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-22-4570. So its more like 5 sets that have it :-)
Gratzies on the 3666, they are really great!!!!! So why stop at one *wink*

The golden mercenary sword and the drawbridge chains are available from the DS. At least, they were in France last year…

what do you mean ? ??? ???

Heh heh what I mean to say that it's really really nice to be able to come in here and discuss the use of a gold sword in five PM sets ... you know, that sort of thing would not interest my wife ::)

Guys ... I have another question please :)
The fleurdelys knight, is the feather on his helmet black or blue? On the box cover it looks black, but on the back cover it looks blue.
??? ??? ???
-
Its dark blue!
-
The same colour on the horse?
-
The same colour on the horse?
Yes exactly the same!!
-
Thanks. Why do you reckon some sets are rarer than others ah?
I would understand the Romans being rarer than the Knights because it was a short-lived theme, but what about sets from the same theme? Wouldn't they have been available for the same amount of time? So why, for example, is the old catapult set much, much less rare than this jousting set?

There was a reason discussed somewhere a few months back...I think it was playmofire who gave the answer...but I am not 100% sure...I'll try and search the various threads and see what happens...
