Title: Witch's Lair
Post by: Emma.J on September 24, 2010, 20:11:14
This custom build started off with two things..... a very nice pointed hat I bought and a spare "U" upper floor from a western sheriffs building. From this I created just for fun a witchs house. It would have looked better on a propper base but I've run out of them at the moment  ::)

Woah! So cool! ;D
I guess this answers my questions in your other thread. :-[

Here's a new one:
Where did you get the floor? :o ??? ??? ???
I think it would be awesome to use in a castle setting. ;D

Hi W.O.T ,
I've just had a look for the floor, you can buy sheets of printed paper from any doll's house website or you can make and print your own out - that's what I do.

This is so great Emma!!! I love your creativity!! How/what did you use to make the little books and maps?

Ok I cheat a little on this, if you google vintage maps and books you can save the images to print out later. I shrink and colourise the image, print it out on paper or card then if it's white I age it with some cold tea, then burn the edges with a match.

I am Catholic. My wife is Wiccan. Maybe I’m going to Hell for not burning her at the stake, but anyways…
As soon as she gets home, I’m showing her these pics and asking her “opinion.” (And maybe get hit for my troubles, I can only hope…)

Clever!  Good thinking, Emma.   And cold tea is excellent for ageing old photos and suchlike.

Excellent custom, Emma.  I love the detail and general untidiness of the place.  I can imagine your witch sorting though stuff and muttering, "I know I put that spell recipe somewhere!"

The trees around the house nicely set the scene of the forest it's hidden in.

Love it- the books are great, and I think the hat is awesome-  I just finished reading one of Terry Pratchett's Discworld books to my wife- the hat made me think of the hats described for the 3 witches...

I used to have Unseen University (Wizard’s Workshop, Set #3839 with expansion castles sections and about a dozen various wizards), and decided that Ridicully chose to open Dartsmouth College (their witches outreach program).
