Title: Hi from Utah
Post by: blondeziggy2 on September 03, 2010, 19:36:56
Hello,

My name is Mylissa, and I'm pleased to be a new member of your board. I live in Utah, USA.

I lived in Belgium for several years when I was a child (in the early 1980s). Playmobil was my siblings and my favorite toy. We have many older sets. Now I'm married with two daughters. It is my children and their cousins' favorite toy. I don't know if I'm considered a collector, because I don't keep anything sealed in it's box. However, it is our obsession.

I look forward to getting to know you better.

Mylissa

Hi Mylissa
Welcome from Southern Scotland (http://planetsmilies.net/flag-smiley-7326.gif)
Pleased that you have decided to join us.
You will find that a lot of us don't keep our Playmo sealed in boxes - we like to play with it  ;D
Which themes/sets do you still have from when you were a child?

Sealed, in box...?
They'll choke to death! :o

I never, EVER keep mine in their box,
I could just never think of it.
I like fiddling, and looking at the toys.
To me, just keeping them in their box,
Is like looking at the pictures online.

Now after that little rant...
It is nice to meet you Mylissa!
;D

Hi from Maine-  I don't believe Playmobil should ever be trapped in a box! (except for that golden night I have hidden somewhere)
Been a fan since the early eighties, and I love sharing "daddy's toys" with my daughter!

Welcome from Oregon, only one time zone to the West!

About 95% of my Playmobil is out of the box, much of it secondhand so I never had the box to start with. The stuff still in the box is only so because I haven't gotten round to opening it yet.

a warm welcoming hug from the sunny mountains of Switzerland :)

I know someone from Switzerland who has all his boxes sealed... I'm just resisting the urge to go to his house and open everything, haha ;)

honestly, I LOVE to make dioramas with my Klickies, I'd be so sad if I couldn't

I never keep anything sealed in the box, either. As a matter of fact -- this may make everyone cringe -- I don't even keep the boxes! I just don't have room for them.

Wow, it feels good to get that off my chest!  :-\

Anyway, hello and welcome from Louisiana!  Hope you have a wonderful time here.

Hi Mylissa!

Welcome to the forum from Scotland. :)

IMHO, anyone who keeps groups of similar items purely for enjoyment is a collector.
Makes no difference how many they have or what condition.

Have fun with your klickies and visit us often! :)9

Hi Elaine, we have a variety of sets including early medieval, farm, construction, and sets with children. I remember being so excited when the klicky hands changed to be moveable and when the children were first released.

Hiya!

I collect many different lines of toys and almost 95% are, as I hear online often, freed from their plastic / cardboard prisons! As someone said above me - they'll suffocate!

Cheers

Hello Mylissa,

A warm welcome from the Netherlands. There are few MISB collectors here, as you have seen the majority feel the need to unbox them and set them free.
