Post by: shirona33 on August 20, 2010, 08:50:03
I try to set in pics from my Wild West Diorama.

http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/album/thumbnails.php?album=158

Funny, I never did on this way before, like a gallery. I only new, how to set an attachment in a post. 8}

With this pic, I tried to catch up, how the 48m² where build up. It's the one standing back to the wall 12x4 meter.

WOW,....I am stunned.

Isn't it amazing how Playmobil looks in huge numbers!! The herd of Bisons, the pine forest, the tipis and the Mountains they really are a thing of beauty on their own but when you see them like this WOW!!

Great setup Shirona!

Are they Bisons or are they Buffalos?

Everywhere I look says different things, or are they the same?

Thank you! :-[

The tipis are painted by my wife. She also made me Can Can Ladies. She did there an Safari Diorama with self painted Jeeps and an aero plane. She collects playmobil too.

Now, she sends me to buy some food. When I'm back, I'll show you more pics.

 ;)

Well, Damo, I think bison is the short form of the Latin name Bison bison, while he looks like an buffalo, so he was frist called north american buffalo. I think both is right. But I'm no expert! :-\

Buffalo is just a latinoid word for certain cow-species. There is the african buffalo, but also the water buffalo (southe east asia). Compare it to the french boeuf and the english word beef (hmmmmm, lunch).

Native to Europe is the wisent. That is a germanic name and it looks a lot like a North American bison. This germanic word was adopted and adapted into latin as bison.

If you want to be really specific in this case it would be North American Buffalo. But everybody will know what you mean if you call them bison or buffalo.

Great set up Shirona33! But why is it called St. Pöten?

 :o I forgot a "l'"! And it was this year not 2009 8}

St. Pölten is the town, they make a convention every year.

It's a big model making con, focus at cars, aeroplanes, trains, ships and so on with a little part playmobil, lego and matador. 2010 was the first time they showed playmo and I was allowed to present mine. 2011 I will show an ACW Dio.

So many buffalo/bison together looks great and I love the way you have set up all the rocks.
Your wife did a great job with the teepees.
Do you have any close up photos of the buildings?
Looking forward to seeing more.

Thank you Elaine and Ali.

Now all 69 pics are there. I hope you'll enjoy them.

May be I'll find some pics, I made after I build them, to show in the German forums. But they show only the buildings without klickys. If you want I can make another galerie for it. :hmm:

Hi

Your collection of Western is quite impressive. I really would like to see some more pictures of your very interesting building designs. They really look neat and very large. You really have created quite a beautiful scene that must be great to look at in person with the train running all around. Our western is all crammed together due to lack of space and the way you have yours all spread out really makes it look so much more realistic.

Great job and thanks for sharing  :wow:

That's an amazing amount of Western pieces. The most buffalo and longhorn cattle I have seen at once.

Thank you, Wolf, Ras and Tiermann.

Now I made the second Galerie only with pics, before they where finished. But only details are missing.

The first version of my rail station was a little bit too........too.......... hmmmmm .... too much. Hard to imagine such a station in a western town. But I wanna show you the pics here. ;)
