The highest level a warrior in the Malevolent Duke's army can reach!!! (dark armour, black tunic)
(Unless he wants to move further up and take the place of one of his two bodyguards...)

Oh wow they are magnificent! :o
I would never have thought to use that helm,
but it works prefectly! :)
Such a cool job Sir Wolf. :yup:
-
Those are some very menacing sentinels, Panos! >:D The dark armor and swords combined with the black tunic and druid eyes are a perfect choice. Depending on your preference, giving each sentinel one of these would make them even more intimidating:

See!!! I told you they would look great!!! Thank you Warrior!!!
The helm is a problem for the time being...I had to get a second 4837 to get hold of a second such helm...but now that I have two of them and know it works great, I shall get more from ds or a seller off ebay!!!
Pity I also had to dissasemble two 3315 knights for the legs and armor.... :( :( :( I had to rub off the silver spots from the legs with emanel paint thinner...
But the result is indeed magnificent!!!

Thank you Warrior! I still miss these two 3315...and I fear I might sacrifice a few more...if I find more of these helmets for the Sentinels... Oh well, I guess I should go around the toys shops again and get any last 3315 remain...

Very tough, but they lack the individual personalities of the Dark Knights. Is that because this close to the top of the ladder that have to conform to the Malevolent Duke's wishes even more?
Different weapon combinations for each Sentinel would give each some individuality while keeping the armor uniform retains their cohesiveness as a unit.

You got the point right on Martin!! in this level, individuality is lost to the twisted wills of the Duke!!! But your suggestion of use of a different weapon as an indication of individuality is excellent :)9 !!! Thank you!!!

Hi Wolf Knight,
Very sinister customs you have there -- well done!
Regarding the legs, have you thought about using legs from this guy:
30 00 6672 - Dragonland warrior, red brown hair and beard, skirted legs, shoulder armour (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-00-6672)
or this guy:
30 00 6862 - Dragonland Knight, black tunic, red collar, chanmail coif (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-00-6862)
These would avoid the need to take paint thinner to your Klickies. Just a thought...
Cheers,
AndrewL

Hi Andrew!!! Thanks for your feedback!!! Glad you liked them!
Unfortunately both knights you proposing have light grey legs...my dark sentinels need dark grey.
3315 is the only one that has them right now, dots excluded... I must keep my eyes open for any future playmobil sets that might have knights with plain black and dark grey... So the work of making more of them goes on hold...

Hi Wolf Knight,
Try this guy:
30 00 6822 - Knight, dark-coloured armour, chainmail coif, wolf shield on chest (http://www.playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30%2000%206822)
Black skirted surcoat and dark grey mailed legs -- does he do the trick?
I ordered a few of him from DS a few months ago, and I've found him very useful for customs.
Cheers,
AndrewL

Oh yes!!! That one is great indeed Andrew :)9 :)9 :)9!!! Thank you very much!!!!
I will add him to my list and see if Playmobil Hellas DS will finally accept the order (up until now they wouldn't but Giorginetto did manage to place a massive spare part collection a few weeks ago)!!!
-
Happy to be able to help.
I was also quite pleased when I realised there was a figure with the black skirted surcoat and dark grey legs. I've used the legs for knights bearing the purple/yellow wyvern (from 3669 and other sets). Should take some pictures of them...
Cheers,
AndrewL

Those sound great Andrew. :) (I cant wait.)
I hope that Playmobil Greece will allow you to buy only the parts Sir Wolf.
Here's hoping the best of luck. ;D

Awesome! Love the dark armour. Will there be more than two of these?

....................ic and druid eyes are a perfect choice..................
Druid eyes? Are they called druid eyes? Is the druid the first to have these eyes?
-
Druid eyes? Are they called druid eyes? Is the druid the first to have these eyes?
yes, the druid from set 3944 was the fiirst figure to have these eyes
don't know whether they are called druid eyes in general, though

I am planning on making 20! But it will take some time to order the parts. So it will be sometime until we see the rest of them!

I still have my doubts...I will not be asking grat numberslike yourself so they might refuse...That is why it takes me so long to complete the list... Generally, I have most of what I need....I just need to organise them and categorise them!

How's so Warrior?
They are period from the Gaulic era to 12 or 13th century.
They are alot like the viking helms, but they are a little bigger.
The Viking Helm:

A 12th Century version (Much like the Playmobil helm):

You are welcome to try... your ranks will be obliterated at the instand no matter their numbers and skills... you have to remember...these sentinels have passed through four different classes/levels (Guards, Black Guards, Captains, Black Knights) to reach their current status.... they are much more evil than anything your punny little infantry and knights have ever encounter....

Eye, but we have God on our side! 0) ;D
And my Black Lion Knights have had to face the reincarnation of Satin as a human being,
Still with his Angelic powers,
And all they had was their skill.
And Nature Master. ;)
They have also had to face my friend's army...
Whose King knowes the dark arts to the highest level.
And whose knights outnumbered my men 5 to 1.
(And those were only the ground units... ran out of time to finish the battle.)
So I'm not so sure that they havent faced eviler. ;)
-
I am afraid that indeed they have not!
My story takes place beyond the know realms, to a parallel universe where our laws of nature and theology do not apply...
Here, the Warrens of Magic are ustable, while the Elder Warrens are slowly regaining their long gone power...Here the various Houses (Life, Death, Light, Dark, and most importantly...Shadow, also known as the Balancing Power) struggle to gain control of an ancient world full of mystery, where good and evil are fine lines to be crossed....
For more details see ''Malazan Book of the Fallen'' by Steven Erikson.... ;D ;D ;D
-
Sounds really intresting! :)
I would love to hear more.

Very interesting Sir Wolf, very itneresting indeed . In my story though things are far more simple and I am afraid you darnk sentinels would become ornaments on pikes on my walls as nothing can stand against my grand army and a few pike men would turn them into kebabs i am afraid...... it was all about number in mediaval times Sir Wolf , all about numbers and engineering.... on your plain sounds liek a different story , perhaps i make a task force of 1300 klickies with 9 dragons air force , 30 capapults , viking ships and lots of cavalry and magicians to ' pay a lit visit ' ....

Saddly, you will achive nothing...
Just to give you an idea of what kind of characters you'll be up against...
''Anomander Rake is the Lord of Moon's Spawn and the leader of the Tiste Andii. Anomander is Soletaken, able to assume the form and power of a dragon, presumably due to his tasting of the blood of Tiam, a true Eleint or dragon.
Anomander Rake carries a huge great sword which he carries on his back. The sword is called Dragnipur, taken from its creator, the Elder God Draconus by Anomander Rake, who then turned it upon its creator. Dragnipur was formed to keep chaos from reaching the gate of darkness. It enslaves the souls of the people killed by it and uses them to pull the wagon (gate of darkness) away from chaos until the souls run out of energy and collapse and must be carried within the wagon meaning it is harder for the rest of the slaves.
Anomander Rake's only major fight against the Malazan Empire was seen during the end of the Siege of Pale. A combination of Imperial Mages, including High Mages Tayschrenn, Nightchill, Bellurdan and A'Karonys attacked Anomander and Moon's Spawn. The Lord of Moon's Spawn demonstrated his power here, obliterating entire regiments with his sorcerous abilities and, despite the fact that it was Tayschrenn that betrayed and killed High Mage's Nightchill and A'Karonys, Rake's powers were shown to weaken them all drastically. In the end Moon's Spawn retreated.
Anomander Rake was later found in Darujhistan, where he made an alliance with the Alchemist Baruk, and later sent his Soletaken and Silanah, a true Eleint, to fight against the resurrected Jaghut Tyrant, Raest.
Anomander and the Tiste Andii also participated in the invasion of the Pannion Domin and the destruction of Coral. Anomander took most of the Tiste Andii with him in Moon's Spawn and hid it underneath the harbor of Coral in Ortnal's Cut, a very deep chasm. There they waited until the attack of Caladan Brood and his allied army began, and then unveiled Kurald Galain (Warren of Darkness) and engulfed the entire city. This became Black Coral where the remaining Tiste Andii dwell.''

Just all in good fantasy literature fun!!! ;)
-
Very interesting Sir Wolf !!!!! ;)
-
Yes, Very intresting! :)
It looks like a good book.
Perhaps we should have 2 battles?
1 fantasy battle with magic, and your Dark Sentinals have their full power.
And another battle but with no magic and magical things, and make it much more realistic.
That way if I have my elves done by then I can use them too! :) :) :)

sounds great Sit Knight.
he looks a bit like a drow elf in the pic.
I am still working on to many things! No huge armies for me yet
-
Finally my 20 Dark sentinels are ready!!!! Its been some time but I finally managed to complete them thanks to DS ;D
I still have not decided on a shield though... :-\ nor on a captain...
-
My new detachment of 60 x 3890 knights with long lances and newa style metal armoured horses will eat these sentinels for breakfast and any army that stands in their way !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D
-
These guys have big bellies Sir... My sentinels have been, literary, through hell... Each of them can fight like ten men, and in case one falls there is a dark knight (one class lower) awaiting to take his place and go one fighting... you see the malevolant duke is using magic on his men 100x >:D

George, Pictures!!! :hissyfit:
Sir Wolf, Might I suggest that the captain have the same armor as his men,
but this neck piece instead: http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-00-6900 (perhaps in a darker color)
And a cape of this style: http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-26-5890
In the color of the kingdom. Or just black/purple if you want to stick with the theme.
-
Sorry warrior, somehow I dont find it very matching... I'll experiment a bit with other dark grey neck pieces I have! But thanks for your suggestions anyway! :)
-
Ok, then I have 2 ideas for shields.
Since they are really heavily armored, a big, heavy shield might not be the best option.
A shield like this: http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-02-7230 might be interesting to try.
Or ignoring that last post... ;) This shield would also look really cool with them I think.
http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-22-1850
-
the second option is better but it does not come on a dark grey colour, and te first chise is very small... nor do i like the black round shield for them... i'm sooo difficult...
-

I think i havea solution for you Sire, that goes well with the fiercefull character of these sentinels .
Get the grey plain - no sticker shield ...
http://playmodb.org/backs/5888_back.jpg
With or without this sticker, i think it fits well sire !!! ;)

Sorry George... as I said to Warrior, I am soooo difficult... this one is too silver... I need a dark grey shield... and the pattern on the shield you suggest is printed on, not a sticker. Thanks for your suggestion anyway :)
