Do you guys do that?
-
I myself do not do that. Why should I? Or do people with spare copies keep them at a different location, in case of fire, flood, earthquake, etc.
There is however someone at this forum with over 10 spare copies for his 3666 castle.
-
Well..... yes....
In some cases a klicky is bought 200, 300 or even 500 times over and over ...... same with houses, 3666s, trees, various sets ......
Playmobil look better in vast numbers !!!! ;D ;D ;D

How much is a 3666 now? I would like to own one, since the recently retired lion castle and the new lion castle dont look good relatively
200 of them? You form an army or solely as backup? This is surreal to me, though I know it be real after reading your thread 8-)

I am building playmo armies see my related threads ( mediaval primarily followed by vikings, roman and now egyptian, soon to expand my redcoats and western armies also and get some more pirates ) hope ully big enough to take over the ( playmobil ) world... There are a couple of rather interesting adversaries in Greece ( Wlg Knight, Grangel) that will soon taste the might of my mediaval army !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It has to do with the way that you collect the playmos.
If you are a collector in real words then you keep the klickies like gold, possible you leave them in the box unopen...
if you are like me i never hold the box because i want to play with playmo to hold it to change it and to keep as uncharm as i can while playing with it.
I do not keep the castles the way they came from playmobil because i want to give my imagination and style but sure i shall keep something original.
p.e i will never create an archer only with his bow for me he needs something to defend himself in close combat and sometimes a buckler.
and as my friend Giorginetto have sent earlier if the playmos are soldiers they must be in GREAT numbers to look cool.An bunch of soldiers must be at least 20 pieces. ;D ;D ;D 8}

You guys really are spending a lot on playmobil. Have you been inducted a VIP in your local toy store??

     they are 11 actually!!! I love getting a set more than two times, especially the ones i can use for expanding a single set, or creating armies or use them for customisation!!!!
I also like to keep various sets sealed in their box, mayne as a future investment...so Yes I do tend to get more than two set on various occasions!!!!

I am a VIP in three toy stores already!!! I get various discounts and usualy I get an interesting theme used fo the decoration of the fronts as presents!!!! and occassionally get free p&p off sellers from ebay!!!
I also tend to free klickies off their boxes and then place them in plastic zip bags and store them all together...I keep one copy of each on display!!!

Not any more....Theres four now. Yes do that also. I try to get at least to or more of my favorite items or just stick with one favorite item and collect as much as I can collect of it. But sometimes I just end up with only.

I'm afraid that I just can't say no to furniture for the Victorian mansion. There always seem to be so many rooms to fill. I ususlly pick it up when I see it at flea markets or garage sales. I haven't done much with it lately, but have plans to customize many of the pieces. Rarely do I buy multiples of anything brand new, unless there is a certain Klicky or accessory that I want to have clones of. ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

Don't know for the rest of the world. Here in Holland you can buy a nice one for about 100 euro's. With a bit of luck you can get one for about 80 or a little bit less. That is without shipping costst.

WOW....100 EURO only? Here in Hong Kong...even the blue lion castle that will soon be retired cost 360 EURO
-
Yeah, but that is a new castle. 3666's are 2nd hand.

I just went down to the toy store during lunch time.....so sad despite 20% off....I really have no appetite to get any set. I love klickies, but the other parts are simply too big. In very bad mood. :-\
2nd hand? How much does it cost shipping to Hong Kong?
-
I do have multiples of some items, but not as 'spares', more as extras!
For me, although I do like to have complete sets, it is more about buying what I need to set up a display or photo story.
Elaine :)

I often get extras as I tend to mislay my original figures!
e.g. the current Wolf Knights, I've now bought at least 4 sets of most of the characters. I got a couple of sets through a Malta dealer on eBay when they first came out, then got another set when I could buy them in the shops, then yet another set when I saw them in Grand Junction, and yet another set from Eugene Toy & Hobby.
