Title: most you ever paid
Post by: reimagination on April 09, 2010, 06:13:14
I collect mainly klickys and animals because... they're what I like.
Well, periodically I check all over the nets (since fewer and fewer stores around here sell playmo) to see what new klickys I want to buy. I actually have a small notebook with a list of what I want, what I have, and other random playmo notes. And I've pretty much reached the end of my "cheap" klickys and am now looking at ones that are $20 or more. So far the most I've spent for a single klicky is about $10 (4631 nun), but I can see myself shelling out much more than that in the near future (I'm currently bidding on some on eBay!... maybe I shouldn't have said that). So it got me wordering, what is the most you have ever paid for a single klicky?

or is that rude to ask?

I bought a set that had the wedding musicians (don't recall the number) and I paid $34 but I only wanted the musicians and instruments so I guess that's $17 each, only did it once, never again, but I am glad I got them.  8}

The most I ever paid for a klicky was £23.00  :-[ (including postage) for my medieval lady with yoke and buckets.
Needless to say Sandy didn't realise how much but I justified it by it being a 'Mother's Day' present for myself knowing that he hadn't bothered to take the boys shopping to choose something for me  ;D
BTW I only paid £2.47 for the nun a few weeks ago!

I think I paid around $35.00 plus shipping from Germany for one of my Sherlock Holmes figures that was 100% complete, but without box, or product catalog! I don't regret it what so ever!

I dont think I have ever really overpayed for a klicky...
I only pay for it if it is a fair buy,
So if the single playmo is 16 dollars I'm not going to buy it.
(Unless it is really rare.. then maybe... ;) )
I dont think I have ever payed more then 3-5 dollars on a Playmboil figure. 0)

I bought five or six 3631 Wandering Monks off eBay for around 10GBP ($15) each to make a small monastery, each a separate auction so add at least 2GBP for postage to each.

Several are still in their boxes as I never had a building for them until recently, and I still haven't had my "Monastery" out of its box yet.

I have only one Nun and she was expensive too. I'd like to see the Nun & Monk reissued, as a blister pack.

Awe yes! I forgot about my Dracula figure , but it's become available again in a Halloween pumpkin set recently so I paid way too much for my 3 Drac figures!

Believe me i had a really hard time tracking them myself....
If i would make a phonecall they would not give me any answers, so i got in the car and started visiting everyone....This way i found the viking long boat, the viking long house, the big pirate lagoon, the boxes that you just saw and various others.

The guy i got the dracula from was, what he claimed to be, ''the first greek dealer selling playmobil over the internet''. I met him when i visited a toy warehouse (you know old basemen dusty piles of dirty toys, some boxed etc) and he was boasting of his vast knowledge on playmobil and him being the greatest seller of them all ::) .... Any way, I asked him if he had any to sell. He said no... ::) But the second time i asked him, outside this warehouse, he said that he had a few left (he did not want the warehouse owner to hear this) and that he could sell me a few.... We went by his office and there were indeed a few boxes left lying around...he just wanted to get rid of them as he was changing bussiness and opening an cafe/restaurant... I visited the warehouse again and again after that but never saw him again... got a few piles of used playmobil from the warehouse thought.... ;D ;D ;D Even steck pieces....

Hmm, I am not too much into collecting rare klickies...
...so the biggest investment I ever did was 8€ into the wella special prince.

Better ask what was the most I ever got in selling a klicky...  >:D

socrates

The most I paid was for the special edition US fireman which is hard to get over here but got one for £5. In second place was also a wella prince for £2.50!

Well then socrates, what was the most you ever got selling a klicky?

To be honest, I am not sure, how much it was exactly, but it was a limited edition of a knight that came with a DS order and I got about 35€ (?) for it.
Originally, I wanted to keep my knight, but as it half refinanced my DS-order...  :D

The combination of "limited" and "knight" always results in good prices... ;)

best,
socrates

My most expensive buy was for a Playpeople blister Knight MOC at £27.00.

I remember watching an auction on ebay for a red Knight of Malta keychain it was selling at £110.00, I didn't see the end of the auction so it might have sold higher than that.
