Hello
I've been away from the forum for a while just briefly dropping in to catch up on the news. I love some of the new playmobil sets coming out this year it's such a shame they wont be out over here till next year, and as always I love looking at every ones new customisations.
:wow: Hat's off to you guys and gals!
I've finally started to wade through my pictures and sort out photo's for my albums so I'll be adding to those at last. I've found a usefull photo organiser called Picasa which will edit and sort out my pics - I recommend it to everyone and it lets you upload albums to the web as well 8}
So here's my first new build a Pavilion made from palace parts.

Wonderful structure and accessorizing

After looking at your fantastic Victorian customs and scenes, Emma, (and how you've displayed Pingo's great Hansom Cab), it just doesn't make any sense at all why Geobra wouldn't want to re-introduce their wonderful Playmobil Victorian theme ... 8}
Thanks for the fabulous photos and all the best,
Richard

Hi Emma
What a beautiful diorama you put together. Your customs are very elegant and really show how talented you are at making Playmobil accessories. I have been pondering attempting an idea every time I look at your cloth customs. I am not into making my own after market customs but if I could even get close to your level I think it would be the only way to re-create the look I want.
Do you do any commission work :*)
Thank you for sharing

Thanks for the great comments, if you need any help just say not a problem.
As to commissions YES I do, all the items in my videos have been sold as well as other commissioned work for example I sold 3 copies of the Victorian Street market at Christmas.
I love to build things and I haven't the room to keep everything I do, also I couldn't afford to keep my work. Every time I make something I sell it on so I can afford to buy some more PM to work on. Every now and then I manage to buy a little towards my own private collection. Last week I bought an Igloo and Eskimos I've always liked - still don't know where I will put them but they are soo cool.
I'm so envious when I see everyones collections, they're just huge! :omg:
I'll get there some day... probably when I'm 80!

Hello and thanks Baden,
the sky background is a roll of cloud print paper I bought from a local print / craft shop. I think it was about 6m long, I've fixed battons along the back so I can unroll it when I need to take photo's

Well here's pics of my next creation. More Victorian I'm afraid. :-[
This is Mrs Beetons Sweet Shop - yes I've got a sweet tooth!
Upstairs is a living quarters, I've cut up and painted an oven and a kitchen cupboard with a sink on the side to make a small kitchen area.
Downstairs is the shop with lots of old fashioned chocolate bars and jars of sweets. I hope it makes everyones mouth water

You express my sentiments exactly!

Dear Daniela
I love your work too
Looking forward to the Chippendales!
As to new projects..... well my other topic has my Victorian Street Vendors on it, there's a set of small street shops, a couple of surprises I'm still trying to work out the details of and the 3 big Medieval projects. So as usual it's all go 8} I tend to get new ideas while working on one thing so I have to rush of and build that while I've got a bee in my bonnet about it :o
Thanks every one for taking an interest!

Thanks every one for taking an interest!
"Taking an interest"?
Are you joking, Emma?
How could anyone not love your magnificent creations? And, how could any who loves Playmobil not absolutely love your beautiful scenes and customs?
-
Emma, your customs are soooo awesome! :wow: :wow: :wow:
Your sweeps look so authentic :o
-
Are you joking, Emma?
Nope I'm not, every day I look on this forum I see such wonderfull and much better customs than I could ever do. I'm amazed by it all I look at what I do do and think "well it's o.k. but it's only addons." It's fairly limited what I can do, I certainly don't come up with such wonderful customised figures as many do on here like Spartans and Warrior women, and I can't hold a candle to the new cars and ships people build, never mind the wonderfull bigger and better building designs that I've seen. :wow: :wow: :wow:
Don't get me wrong I like what I do but I also know that it's not true PM customisation that most favour on this site. :-\ I add doll's house or Sylvanian etc to the Playmobil as I can't find or make what I'd like from the original range but I understand most collectors would stick to Pm only and have said so. I admit I'm in two minds about it part of me is still a purist. I wouldn't mix other items with my Palace PM, I love looking through the catalogues trying to find odd bits and pieces from other sets to dress it up with. The same with my medieval stuff. The Tudor manor I'm working on now is going to be all PM 0) and I can't wait to share that with you all as I hope it will find favour with all the fans.
So Richard, I am still amazed and really, really pleased when my piers, people whose work I have long admired on the internet but didn't know till recently, take the time to look at my offerings and leave such great comments. I'm always on tenderhooks when I post something new as I value your opinions and feedback, that I can't wait to see what you all think.
So a big thank you to every one who leaves a message they really do make my day :)

Your humility is refreshing, Emma!
But, please believe us when we tell you how impressed we all are with your imaginative and exquisite creations!
Thank you for being here at Playmofriends.
All the best,
Richard

Rest assured Emma your creations are as worthy of a place here as anything that has been posted! :wow: Anyone can buy aftermarket items and create a jumble but it takes real skill and a good eye to achieve that balance of colors, textures and content that makes a diorama come alive as yours do. Your ability to see combinations of parts and the nuanced details is very special. To echo Richard's sentiments, thank you for being here at Playmofriends!

I have to agree with Gepetto Emma. Your work is really fantastic and it is a community such as this which truly appreciates it. Thank you for sharing your creations with us and keep them coming!

Dear Emma :)
I entirely agree with the above comments as your creativity, knowledge of the Playmobil products and eye for colour association are second to none
You truly are in a league of your own :wow: :wow:

Hello and thank you again every one for your support :-[
I'm going to do a street of shops next in very small buildings I'd love to know what you think of this build. It's not on a normal mansion base so I can make a one room shop, as I'm sure you all know a single mansion baseplate would leave a gap along one edge which I've never liked doing.
So what do you think? ???

Extremely well done :wow: :wow: :wow:

Stunning!!!! :wow: :wow: :wow:

Wonderful Emma! This is going to be a real treat.

Emma,
What can I say that hasn't been said before? I'll have to just say it in emoticons:
  :wow: :wow: :inlove: :inlove:

Hello, Emma ...
Back in the "old days", Playmobil made wonderful bases for their train stations. The bases came in pieces which joined together in whatever size you wanted to make. Some of these bases even came as add-ons so that it was possible to make sidewalks for a Playmobil town.
I've attached a few pictures of some of the sets, Maybe they're available on eBay?
Emma, your "Wilton Arms" is the most beautiful and creative building that I've ever seen made from the Victorian mansion building parts. Is it a shop? A pub? An inn? Or, a B&B? Whatever you've intended it to be, it's lovely. And, I'm going to try to make one with parts from my Victorian collection.
Thanks once again for sharing your imagination and giving us so many really great ideas!
All he best,
Richard
-
Hi Emma,
Your Wilton Arms, as with all your other buildings and customs is really super. :wow: I love the colours.
I'm sure that you've told us before but can I ask what type of paint you use and is it the same type for the walls as for the windows. I am hoping to customise some western buildings (when I get time) but nothing like the scale of the ones you do! But I'm not sure where to start at the moment.
Looking forward to seeing your Victorian street of small shops.
Elaine
