Post by: macgayver on February 04, 2010, 15:26:15
Last weekend we had Tricornejock visiting
He gave me some basic lessons to draw in Illustrator

Here some results

Hi Mac Gayver

Those are really good looking drawings. Did you draw them free hand on the computer or do you scan some other image from a coloring book or something? I really like these and will use them for the kids. If you get or make more please if it is not too much trouble share them with all of us here.

Thank you for the art

Thank you

The main principal is , I take a picture from a figure and import that picture in Illustrator

Then everything is drawn by hand using the foto as example

This biker for example took me approx 4 hours to draw him
I'm learning by doing

The general idea behind all these drawings is to make our own  T-shirts
JPEG format gives bad quality , Illustrator makes a vectorgraphic
This means you can enlarge your picture as big as you want

Last year TricorneJock made our avatars
Past weekend he learned me how to handle Illustrator

I'm practicing eversince  ;)

Yes , I can make some more drawings, what do you like me to draw for the boys

Your drawings are fantastic, Michael! ...  :wow: :wow: :wow:

Are you taking requests? ...  ;D

If so, how about a "Mountie" from set 3827? ... :yippee: ...

All the best,
Richard

Hi Mac Gayver

Well they turn out great and now that you explained how you do it I can see from all the details drawn in how it must take 4 hours to do one. I really like these and see a lot of uses for them. I would love to see drawings of all our avatars but that I think is asking way too much. The boys will gladly color anything you make and I will see about getting the colored pictures put on T-shirts (great idea again ) They got for Christmas the Ghost Pirates, Underwater subs & Egyptians themes this year but I was thinking of priming them for the 2010 year presents. I figure the Dragon Land, African & Construction themes will be good ones  :wow:

Great work on the graphics

Something like these would look great on a coffee cup or mug! They have carts in the malls that can put these images on plates, clocks, whatever. Thank you Michael!

Aww, your Playmo linearts are so cool, macgayver!  Playmobil should hire you to create a collection of linearts and then they can release a coloring book.

Though I think crayon drawings in coloring books are becoming a lost art.  :(  Most kids these days have little handheld videogames for long car rides or take-a-long DVD players.  I'm glad my childhood happened before the big digital boom took over most of children's activities.  :-\

Maybe we should all break out our Crayola crayons and start coloring ...  ;D

Perhaps we could have a non-competitive "contest" ...

I think that Macgayver would really love to see how we color his drawings.

That would be an awesome idea.  I'll have to print a couple of these out and try my hand at crayon coloring again.  ;D

Oh that's great! I've been printing some of your pictures to color with pencils myself.  :-[ (Hey if I buy and play with toys, why not color, too?) I'll have to do this one too.

I would love to get my hands on one of those wrist guards. I wonder if playmobil could be talked into re-releasing that.
