Post by: skypurr on January 15, 2010, 00:01:11
:DToday has been a wonderful day because the postman arrived after lunch with my latest ebay win ...

I got the lot for £23.25  I don't know if that is a good deal or not but I'm thrilled.  ;D

I think that's a great deal, especially to get that big oak tree and the big barrel.

Looks like there'll be celebrating long into the night out there in the forest.  ;D

That's a nice lot at a good price!  I paid $25 USD plus shipping for the quintain set MIB alone and have seen MIB merry men sets go for over $100 USD plus shipping.  I was able to get some of the oak trees from DS, but I'd sure like to have that large barrel, as would a lot of members on this board!

I have a thing for barrels... and I have a thing for trees....... *eyes with envy*   ;)

Enjoy it! :)

Hi Elaine

The lot you bought looks like a great addition to a medieval collection . The barrel can sell for a premium in the US and I am sure in other countries as well. I do not see the tap to it but that dog does not seem to mind the leak  ;) I have always found it funny how on the box they advertise how a Klicky fits inside, I know that is the first place I would hide :**: With all the parts combined (minus the chicken that is molting)  it looks like a nice value

That's a great find, Skypurr - specially for that price!
The large barrel is a great item in itself - and should the tap be missing - I might have one spare for you - just let me know!
Have fun with them (I know I do )

Hi Bogro, Yes the tap is missing so if you can find a spare one that would be wonderful.  The same seller listed some more medieval stuff yesterday including another barrel but I was outbid  :'( However I managed to win the royal tent and a well so that's a bit more for my medieval collection.
I just love the trees though they seem so solid somehow - I want a forest of them!

By the way Rasputin, what is the 'moulting chicken'?

Elaine

Ohhh - I've just noticed that Skypurr Jr.'s avatar klicky is climbing one of MY precious trees!!

Hi Elaine

Congratulations on the new tent and well. What does a barrel sell for in your area ?

For some reason the hen you have looks like it was a white one from one of the coloring sets and it has a shabby color job. When a chicken is changing it feathers for the season (similar to a dog or cat changing winter to summer coats) it is called molting. Here is a Rhode Island Red (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhode_Island_Red) that is quite a good looking bird, with its feathers that is  ;)

Congratulations skypurr on your recent win! :wow:  You are the envy of many members here, although at the same time you bring hope that we too may find one of these sets for ourselves, enjoy!
