Therre's also a double size Mermaid Blister with seahorses and a big shell, but I didn't have my camera with me for that one. Also a canoeist with small SUV and moose box set, and a red rowboat with oarsman, rocks and killer whale set.

Hi Martin :elf:
That is an interesting looking set you found :o I have not seen this packaging mentioned anywhere before. I guess seeing the set and all the parts is a better marketing strategy for the US.
Thanks for the news I will have to go see if our stores get them soon

Notice top right the yellow star "Collect them all!", is this the first time Playmobil have used this marketing technique?
How can you collect them all when you don't know how many there are in the series? ??? The mini-catalog inside the blister as usual does not show the range of blisters, so no help to collectors.
I wouldn't have been checking the shelves at all if you hadn't posted yesterday Ras, and there were no other sets to be seen (beyond those I mentioned), so it may be they restocked overnight. I was there at 9am, looking for a charger for my Nintendo DS Lite.

They also used it when the Pals were first introduced at Target. There was no way to know how many were in the series then, either. (Sorry, I'm not sure what year this Pal is from.)

That's a great find, Martin! Thanks for the pictures too. I guess this means the blister packs have been quite successful so they decided to increase the contents and prices of them.
Are these new colors for the fur collar and horse furniture? The former looks chocolate while the latter looks caramel, and I don't recall seeing these colors on these items before.

Hi :elf:
It was quite a unique marketing for Playmobil. When the Specials were carried in Target they had a redesigned packaging lay out . They dropped the "Special" pink logo and replaced it with the "Pals" & the " Collect all!" yellow star. Then later again the box was redesigned and they dropped the "Pals" and went for nothing. Then Playmobil scrapped the individual boxes all together and now we have the Blisters.
It would be nice to know what there is and when they are coming out but as you are realizing Martin the US's Playmobil is a bit confusing. I was hoping we were going to get the Blister pack with the Union and Confederate solders but your guess is as good as mine . This new pack you found I do not think has been seen by anybody even on Klickywelt.

Chocolate? Caramel? Someone been getting too much Christmas Candy? Well the fur collar is certainly different to the grey of the Vikings, but I don't know if it's unique, I'm not good on color distinction. The shield and flag designs are new to me, the gun-metal grey of the helmeted guy has been used before.
I think there's enough in this set to make every knights fan want a couple at least. Five weapons and a shield between two guys is generous, and a weapons rack is always useful.
-
Here's a quick pic of the new sets here at the local Target ... of course I couldn't resist picking up a 5888 pack myself :)
-
That's a new variation on the wolf flag too. I think the guy in the boat is about to get seriously swamped when that whale finishes it's belly-flop.
-
Really nice set and like especially the many weapons and tke klickie with the shoulder fur, looks very mean .. now when are we gonna get these loveky sets over here also ??? ??? ??? ???

. I think the guy in the boat is about to get seriously swamped when that whale finishes it's belly-flop.
  I think that guy in the canoe is trying to get away from the moose . There must have not been much protection in the convertible SUV
And thank you core for the pictures of the other sets. This does not look like enough for their regular stock so I wonder how much more we will be seeing .

But, he'll have some seriously awsome video to post on YouTube (if his camera doesn't get too wet!)
I really like the mermaid set with the cute seahorses. I wonder if my Target will be getting these sets or if I'll have to go to the really-far-away Target to get them.

Yes if only he was looking in the right direction ;)

Hi boaters :elf:
I guess nobody at Geobra know how to paddle a canoe (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3XIWpEn3_Y&feature=related) . You do not paddle it like a row boat. ::) I know this is just a simple technicality but I read how much all the medieval, Raman & Egyptian fans like to point out the errors so once in a while the modern themes have similar errors ;)

The 5888 knight and 5884 mermaid big blister packs along with the 5897 orca and rowboat were the only Playmobil sets to be seen on the shelves at the one Target store I have been in since Christmas - I actually had the orca set and 2 each of the blisters in my shopping cart but, ultimately, I put them back as I really don't need them :'(. If the moose set had been there, I would have been powerless to resist and would probably have brought all of them home. ::)
Ras, you are so right about paddling the canoe - bendable elbows and socket joint shoulders would be needed for klickies to accomplish this correctly! 8}

Especially as the canoe in the picture has no rowlocks, it'd be impossible to move it the way the klicky is shown holding those paddles.

Very likely never. In a couple of years looking out for blister packs in the UK, I could count on my fingers the number that ever appeared on the shelves. ::)

Hi Idianna :elf:
None of us really "Need" any of these toys, we just "want them" and "have to have them"

The designer's there used to know how to show it more accurately

Went by target this morning on my way to work and surprisingly ;D they had the same sets as Martin reported. They did have 3 of the shield set on the top shelf of the 30% clearance aisle so I picked one up. I also got all but the moose set. From the shelf tags it looks like that's it for new stuff this round. The rest of the tags are continuations of things they already had on the shelves.
I will post a review of the seahorses set soonish.
-
My local Target does not have this new set. I'll be on the lookout for it. I like it!
Thanks for the tip.

I went to my Target (not the far away store) and they had the blister packs and the moose set but not the others. I bought the blister packs. Now, I'm waiting for Tim to review his seahorses because I can't figure out how to make my coral branches stand up. If I put them in the clam shell they seem to be very close to each other and I don't know where to put the little seahorses. Help me, Tim... help me! 8}

HI Martin & Core
I used your pictures to share with Klickywelt. They were all 8} due to the fact that they could not see the pics with out becoming a member. Seeing as we use so many of theirs I saw it as the least we could do for them ;)

Rasputin,
Thanks much for posting them to Klickywelt, I can understand how vexing it is to read about something and not being able to view the accompanying pics!
fwiw, the only way I keep up with Klickywelt is via google's translate service.

I went to my local Target today, and they are there! :woohoo: I picked up three of the new wolf knights blisters (which was all of them! Do I feel guilty? Umm...no.). I passed on the SUV, moose, and canoe - I already have a moose; I already have a canoe from the fishing cabin set; and the paddles that come with the set are all wrong for a canoe!
I'm very excited about the new wolf knights. I will be ordering quite a few of them online from Playmobil US.
-
and the paddles that come with the set are all wrong for a canoe!
Hi Klickus Mobilus
Just so I do not mislead anybody the paddles are correct it is just how they chose to display them that was all wrong.
I too am looking forward to purchasing many of the new large blister Knights. I like the modern yet simple design. The colors or lack of really makes it easy to make simple hair replacements to give a lot of variety amongst them.

I saw these and bought all that target had. For 6 bucks you can't beat getting two knights a horse and weapons and rack. Love the wolf knights.
-
I went to my closest Target this evening and ALL the blister packs were gone. The shelf tag isn't even there anymore. :( In the past when an item was still available but out of stock the tag was still on the shelf with a small gray sticker on it. Tonight there were no shelf tags, no gray stickers, just empty shelf. ??? I think I should have bought a couple more of the mermaids when I had the chance.
-
I also noticed at the target I went to that they had the shelf tag labeled as Iron knights. Anyone else notice that?

Can't say that I did, but our Target also has no blisters left and doesn't look like restocking.
-
Hello
Well seeing that everyone is thinking that there may not be any restock I went and put our Target into the same state that the ones in your area seem to be in . Meaning I cleaned out all the blisters :P There were 2 of each at one store and I have yet to go to the other one in the next town. The shelf tag said Mermaid/Iron Knights. I think this is the new one for these big blisters.
They did have the new cases at the $10 price so I picked up a few of them also.

My local Targets have nothing but the 'Skull Island pirate play set', what worries me more than the dwindling stock is how little shelf space is set aside for Playmobil. :'(

I went to my local Target yesterday and they had three of the double blister knight's pack. I didn't buy any.

Hello
I forgot to mention that the Take-along-Vet case was back on our shelf
