Title: Playmobil Fire Stations
Post by: FireChief on September 04, 2009, 21:05:46
Hello All,

This is a project I have been working on for a long time.

I have all of my fire companies separated into stations on shelves and have wanted to build fire stations for them. I've finally started... Not all of them are done, so I'll show you what I have.

I'll start with Station 2.

Station 2 is located at Playmobil Regional Airport.

The following apparatus are located at this Station.

Engine 2
Ladder 2
Crash Rescue (ARFF) 2
Support 2
Boats 2 and 3

Station 3 is the oldest station that the PFD operates out of. Station 3 was opened in the early 1940's by the City of Playmobil. Engine 3 and Medic 3 operate out of this 2 bay station which is staffed by 4 firefighter/paramedics.

Excellent display of stations, & equipment, Ben  :wow:! I wish I had enough room to do the same project with my PCFD collection! 32 x 3880/5716 fire engines are difficult to display!

A very neat and effective way to both store and display your fire department, Ben, and all without compromising shelf space.   :wow:

I’m interested to see a complete station (building, offices, all that jazz)…

That is an excellent idea Ben, they look ready to roll at a moment's notice and yet are quietly and efficiently stored until then (and relatively dust free). Bravo!!

Station 4 "The Powerhouse of Playmobil"

Built in 1964 by the City of Playmobil. Station 4 is in need of refurbishment, with narrow bays, cramped rooms, and outdated paint job. It is one of the city's busiest fire stations. It is also the only two story firehouse still in operation.

1 Captain, 1 Lieutenant, and 6 firefighter/paramedics run out of this station on a 24 hour rotation.

The following apparatus are located at this station.

Engine 4
Ladder 4
Squad 3
Medic 4
Medic 4-1

Hello Ben,

:wow: I love your fire stations, they are amazing ! Unfortunatley mine only exist on paper at the moment. If I get some spare time I will post the map I made a while ago showing where everything is in my own Playmo city. I am finally catching up with my outstanding projects, hopefully I will get time to post pictures of HAZMAT equipment I promised you.

i like the way you have used your shelf space, with what appears to be a building facade on the front, that must help keep the dust off.  i am brushing the tops of my klickies in the medical center with an artist brush to keep the dust off, fortunately the humidity is high enough here in sf that i do not have too much dust, however, i have a dog, so she contributes more than her share of dust when she is chasing her tail in my studio.
