Excellent idea! I love the winter scene you created. :D

We haven't had any major snowfalls up our way yet, but I expect there will be some overnight. My kids are hoping for a day off school, but it has to be very heavy for that to happen.

I hope none of your klickies get lost in the snow. It looks quite deep! ;)

Great idea and photos!

We woke up to about 10cms and it then snowed on and off for much of the day.  Ironically, the last time it snowed (December) I had a dental appointment and I had one today - in fact the replacement for the earlier one as I couldn't get out of the village that day.  Today, I was able to keep it, but with forecasts of another 5 to 10cm tonight and more snow on Wed, Thur and Fri the weather's not encouraging.

Hey Gordon

The pictures look great!

You ought to give us a "pictorial tour" of your village someday like Martin or Richard have done.

Most of us in the US have never seen anything like an old British village.

Very nice photos Adrian, thank you for sharing. I really like the texture of your snow.

Hi Tim,

Adrian did the pics, but I do live in an old village, though not especially picturesque, and I do have some photos of it.  I'll see what I can do.

Britain's snowstorm and the resulting difficulties in London made the Boston papers today (we have already had 4 days of school closings here this winter. 8} )   I am glad to see that Adrian's villagers were able to stay home and enjoy the snow!    :)

Gordon, you have no idea regarding Southerners! I moved to SC years ago, but originally I was raised in a very mountainous northern region where snow was very common! I grew up with 4WD vehicles, & snowmobiles! When I moved to where I reside now, if the weather report even hints of snow, the population goes in to hysterics! They buy out the grocery stores, bread & milk are the first staples to disappear, & then if it dose snow even a fraction of an inch, there are numerous transportation accidents if they dare to drive! I worked 45 minutes from my home for one of my previous employers, & never missed a days work due to weather conditions! One time it snowed maybe 4 inches, I was the only person to show up to work on time in my FWD Toyota Camry, & nobody else was even there! I went to my bosses house which was less than a quarter mile away from our facility, & brought him to work! My boss laughed, & told me if I ever acquired a 4WD vehicle down here, I'd be unstopable ! I guess I'm unstopable now, 'cause I finally got a small 4WD  ;)!

I think Gordon is referring to South England, especially the home counties where we are indeed as weak and helpless as fluffy kittens, and rely on our cuteness to see us through any adversity.

But I suspect that there are similarities between the two lost of southerners, Martin.  Bill, I think, has tongue in cheek>
