Title: a not so new spanish 3900 pirates' schooner
Post by: cachalote on January 27, 2009, 01:38:22
 :o browsing through all tha regional playmobil official sites, i found this not-so-new schooner in playmobil.es
 8} it is numbered 3900 and it just looks like the "old" 3174 rotes seerauberschiff (red pirate ship) from 2003 (5733 in u.s.).
 :hmm: is the demand for this set so big in spain that they are re-releasing it?
 :hmm: are they taking over all the 2003 un-sold schooners from all-over the world and putting them in new boxes with a new number?
the playmobil world is becoming a little intriguing...

We have shelves full of unselled pirate ships, we don't understand this new set, because kids likes police, fireman, and knights....

I wonder if the contents have changed slightly, like a new safety harpoon cannon, so it needs a new set number The picture is the same, but maybe they just didn't want to do a new one for a small change.

I've passed over a few of these schooners, lovely as they are, as I only need the two I have.

Martin's wife was looking over his shoulder while he was writing.

Me: Look dear I found another crusader blister at Target!

Her: Don't you already have a crusader? There are 2 in the blister, what are you going to do    with the extra one?

You think you've got problems? Watch me try to explain to my wonderful :love: (:hmm: WIFE) about why my Playmbil City Fire Department keeps growing!

Wife; How many of those do you already have? :hmm:
Me;   I give up, how many? ::)
Wife; No, I'm asking how many you already have of that particular set? ???
Me;   Like I said, I don't know, I haven't taken inventory lately. :-\
Wife; I give up!  :hissyfit:
Me;   OK  ;D

 :lol: Now I will never let here see this tread . she might start a "Stop the Playmonuts" site and petition the help of all the other wife's  :lol:

I have found if i keep all the sets out it creates a sort of confusion as to what there was and what is new  8}

My wife understands me entirely (most of the time) and it's great!

Truth is I have a very good reason to slow the growth of my collection; we're making plans to move home in a few years, and the bigger the collection, the more it'll cost me to move it.

Visual1971  :wow: from klickywelt just saw this "new" 3900 set on sale and took a picture of it.
it looks exactly like the 3174 rotes seerauberschiff from 2003 with no apparent slight variations.  :yup:
it is now also on sale in the regional playmobil sites of france and u.k..
such a waste of energy from geobra i can't undestand.  8}
could it be that they have a huge surplus of the original 3174 or the "bigger" 3133 sets?
  :hmm:

I've seen this schooner in my local TRU but haven't been tempted.

I have two, both second hand off eBay and requiring some replacement parts which I got through spares.

A 3055 schooner might tempt me to a purchase.
