grimmbart :wow: and playmo-family :wow: from klickywelt got some information about playmobil new releases for mid april 2009 (and for the july specials).
they seem to be:
(april)
- Prinzessinnenkoffer zum Mitnehmen (princess world carry-case) - see picture
- duo-pack Ordensritter und Kreuzritter - 1 schwarzes + 1 rotes Kreuz (cross and medal knights)
- duo-pack Pflegerin mit Delfinjungen (nurse and baby dolphin)
- duo pack Polizist mit Gangster (police and gangster)
- Wildtierpflegestation (animal hospital) - see pictures, filled with animals
-
and the juky specials
- Frau mit Welpen (woman with puppies)
- Expeditionstaucher (expedition diver)
- Schwanenritter (swan knight)
- Totenkopfpirat (dead head pirate)
- Arabischer Krieger (arrab warrior) - we already have one amongst us
- Elfenprinzessin mit Einhornbaby (elfen princess with baby unicorn)
-
Thanks for the images and descriptions, Cachalote!
Specially all the new animals in the new Afrika-theme! Can't wait to see them all for real. I really love the flamingo's

-
Oh cool cool cool  8-)
Ostrich, baby rhino and new adult rhino, gazelle!!!, flamingos, baby leopards
>>happy dinosaur dancing<<
-
in the german forum someone was also glad because the new wild animal farm apparently had som hyenas - i think those would be newcomers in the playmo-world - but i can't see them. :'(
the pirate - it is nevertheless a new pirate and that is always good news for me - looks a bit "dry", using the black and red color scheme that all the new playmo-pirates seem to share. :-\
the arab warrior has a very strange weapon - is it new? what is it? ???
-
The picture of the animals . who is that in the tree in the back ? It looks like he has a black ATV
-
it looks like axe # 30 24 7300
-
Wow the african animal farm is wonderful! :o
So many new animals.
And great, now I can replace my leopard cups by original ones (or I keep them as "teen" cups as Playmobil has choosen the kitten variant for the cups).
And I also can discard the rhino child from my customizing list. Great they finally made it (after the hyppo child).
I really love the ostrich. It's a fabulous animal. Well executed.
Oh and the flamingos ... so pink. I think I need quite a lot of them for making a real big covey.
Thanks for the pics.
-
I must say after looking at these pictures ( thank you so much by the way :wow:) it apears this set may be more like an African zoo than the African plains. Most of the big game is all locked up in cages ??? maybe the man in black is not a poacher but a soon to be hero, as soon as he sets them all free that is :P
-
Lovely! What building system will this house be?
And who is the man with the black hat in the left corner of the picture is he a poacher?
-
I like the diver, Arab Warrior, and Black Swan Knight. I'm glad there's no sign yet of the Specials vanishing due to the blisters.
-
Is that the first time a little girl had a full dress? and it looks like the cake is back .
-
:)9 All the new sets look great. Especially the new specials. Thanks for the pics cachalote.
-
Thanks for posting these! I too am very excited about some of these new sets.
-
Is that the first time a little girl had a full dress?
Not new, the child fairies have similar dresses.
Of course by now I'm ready to pick holes - the Black Swan knight has the wrong kind of legs, and I'm wondering if the Arab warrior will have a proper arab scimitar or if they've cheated on it. The Arab Warrior silver legs might be used to fix a few of the gold-leg Crusaders.
I'm not terribly interested in yet another pirate figure, since I have dozens of different pirates already, and it's not the sort of figure you can build into an army, but I'm sure to buy two or three, and customise them.
-

That's exactly what I was thinking, Martin. :)
-
Yes there is a Hyena set listed adn also one with waterbuffalo. I suspect those are new ones similar in look to the image on the jeep. It will be great to see the full group of sets. I expect that will be coming in a few months if not before
-
No Gnus? That's bad news!! I do miss the gnus, hope they come back, maybe in this new batch.

For those that are not members @ Klickiewelt here they are , yes they are blury .
It is looking more and more like the African round up :whip:
Is this what the isolated individuals in Gemany think what you do in Africa . "There is a cat, catch it, lets take it home and sell it "

Mmmm,
I think I do prefer the old safari hut over this one, but I love the new beasts and the baobab tree!
-
Thanks for the pics, Rasputin! :wow:

I think you misunderstand. It's a "tierverplegstation" meaning a animal-hospital. So they're not catching to sell; but catching to nurse ;)
As to the Gnus - I miss them too; perhaps they surface in the DS :-\

Is it me, or can the first set (the one with giraffes) be "connected" to the one with the Hyena's?
It looks to me as if the bases can but in such a way as if the waterflow continues...

I've got them all tucked safe and sound into PlaymoDB, with my own rough translations and the preliminary low-quality pictures. Here's the link:
PlaymoDB - New Sets for April-July 2009 (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/your_set_list.pl?setlist=4249,4687,4688,4689,4690,4691,4692,4826,4827,4828,4829,4830,4831,4832,4833,4834,5876;title=New%20Sets%20for%20April-July%202009)

Excellent observation Bogro! Now that you mention it, it appears that all of the sets with a water source may connect to each other! But it is hard to see until clearer pictures are obtained to really tell if this is an option. Though I see what you are referring to in the main watering hole picture, it seems to have an unfinished edge on the end that can be seen, like something should continue on ???.
-
Thanks for the clarification on the sign . The meandering water scene would be neat if you could add as many as you wanted to make a short ( times 3 ) or long ( times X ) creek .
-
:wow: this is cool, sets connecting to each other.
:'( i am still waiting for a set that can connect to my desert 7718 pirates' island...
-

So, no gnus is bad news? ;D
Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Actually, now that you mention it. When I look a bit closer to the pictures, I think you're right!
I actually think you can put all the creek sections together to form one single large creek.
Now that would be cool!

-
If you look at the big picture of the animal hospital on page one, you can see that the various river pieces do indeed fit together to make one long river. ;D Very nice!!
-
The new animals are real cool. I like the baobab tree as well.
I looks like the one Schleich makes.
Great stuff, thanks for posting.

The warthog hadn't been mentioned that I've seen. Looks good. The hyena seem a bit questionable but will probably look better in person (or a clearer picture)
Looks like another Animobil update next weekend.

new and better pics on Klickywelt
http://www.klickywelt.de/neuheiten-april---juni-2009-t32000.html (http://www.klickywelt.de/neuheiten-april---juni-2009-t32000.html)
hope this time links are better working
-
Thanks, Michael. (The link works OK for me, but then I'm a member there.)
EDIT: Looking at the klickywelt site I see that the pics show new releases for April to June, so if there are any new fire engines in 2009 they are in the second half of the year unless they are going to be a surprise Christmas 2008 release. Meanwhile, Bruder have a very nice new Mercedes Sprinter fire engine available in 1:16 scale which is too big to go with Playmobil but will be very tempting if nothing appears from PM.
-
So last time they did the secret set ( from what i remember ) they showed us a few weeks prior to officially releasing the info and it was ( the sea plane ??? or the dinghy ) . I also think it was the same picture . I remember how so many of us were excitedly anticipating what it could possibly be and then the news was devastatingly disappointing .
-
The new animals look fantastic.
Glad to see a new rhino. Plus the jungle looks more Kenya-like with the African park ranger. Hyenas, warthogs, and ostriches are long overdue. Maybe the original gnu will make an encore as an add-on... :) :)
PS: The water buffalo will enhance anybody's attempt at a Southern Chinese custom scene.
-
Is it me, or are the Playmobil animals getting better and better? These new animals are stunning - just as the animals in the underwater theme ...

So, definitly a must-have for MacGayver then ;). But you are right; it is usable in many themes and settings.

If any wants to see any big picture of any animal or anything please let me know.
Thank you very much for your kind and generous offer.
I think that many of us would like to see bigger (and clearer) pictures of sets 4832, 4833 and 4834.
Thanks again and all the best,
Richard

The new animals are definitely getting better and better! ;D
I buy non-playmobil safari animals for my daughter. With the exception of Schleich and Papo's high-quality molded animals, the non-playmobil safari animals on the market are ill-fitted, distorted wretches.
It's good to see that PM is bridging that gap with a high-quality series of its own.
(now if only it would give us orangutans!)
-
Now if playmobil would make the hut that you can see in the background of the picture of the water buffalo . round system X with the thatched roof :prays:
-
Hello, Rasputin ...
Now if playmobil would make the hut that you can see in the background of the picture of the water buffalo . round system X with the thatched roof :prays:
Hmmm ... You must be thinking about the round huts in a Zulu or Masai kraal. Interestingly, the first Safari sets from Playmobil were from the Masai Ngorongoro Conservation Area in Tanzania (http://www.ngorongoro-crater-africa.org/). (also see map attachment)
The first Playmobil Ngorongoro Safari sets (Steck-System) were produced in the early 1980s (see attachment). It's somewhat fascinating that more than twenty years later Playmobil is revisiting this same theme. Maybe this time Playmobil will complete what they started so long ago. (However, it's really too bad that Playmobil seems to NOT be using either Steck or System-X anymore)
The good news is that with the introduction of the Masai Special (4685) (http://demandware.edgesuite.net/aabe_prd/on/demandware.static/Sites-DE-Site/Sites-Catalog/de_DE/v1226664458874/imagesOnline/products/4685.jpg), there may be a good possibility that those round huts that you saw in the background may actually be part of a new Playmobil Masai village to be released late next year. Who knows?
We'll all just have to wait and see ... And, as Rasputin said (visually) ... :prays:
All the best,
Richard

thanks to purifra :wow: from klickywelt, we have some new images form the 2009 catalogue.
-
and...
-
and a "surprise". :hmm:
the image is the same as the one announced for 2008. >:(
at least, no-one will have any kind of hopes for what it will be and playmobil will probably repeat the mess they did this year (including lying to one of our playmofriends - lhaap). :)
if you read the thread made around this subject - http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=2156.60 - you will know what i mean.
mybe the new fantastic animals they are making can over-run this errors.
anyway, thanks again to purifra :wow: from klickywelt.

Does the new version of the Jeep have rear seats?
-
Thank you very much for the latest photos :wow: I'm really impressed by these sets 8-)
May I ask, Aleon, where you got this "Neuheitenkatalog"?
-
Thank you very much, Aleon!
All the best y gracias otra vez,
Richard

Wait a minute, why do the guys caging the warthog and driving along in the ATV with cattle-skull in back have "evil eyebrows"?
Are they supposed to be poachers? Go Playmobil! Conservationists vs. Poachers. (Now maybe they'll make it to Target's shelves).
But seriously, revisit the "Die Grosse Tierwelt Afrikas" photo and note the (possibly) Indian (subcontinent) grad student in the lower right beside the ostriches.
This makes two, counting the one who comes with the Dinoset. Yes!
-Tim
Maybe Playmobil is trying to honor, albeit not over-indulge, my repeated requests for a cute graduate exchange-student theme (still waiting for the Japanese heartthrob studying international business).
Uh, hello? Anyone? Tell me that wasn't near the top of your lists...
(Maybe I should be part of Playmobil's African wildlife theme...)
-

Licenced playmosellers get such a catalogue from Playmobil
those catalogs are not for the main public

I'm here ... ;D

The 4833 figure appears to have a new style waistcoat, and the 4834 has a new hat, or one I haven't seen before, and baggy trousers. I like the realistic colour schemes, I want these figures. I think they'd be good for military conversions for those that like building armies.
-
Hi all,
Thanks for posting Aleon's pictures, Richard. Great animals.
I think the water buffalo looks more like a cape buffalo.. ???
I did not notice the round huts at first. They would be very
nice to have. I made a couple out of wood a great while back
just for grins..Now I need a Masai Warrior :yup:
(I sure think the eyes and mouth would look better in the warrior if they were black,
and not have the 'beady" eyes...the children in that series look fine with all black eyes and
mouth...well my 2 bits worth.)
I think these are great additions to the series.
Best regards
Jimbo

don't you think that, this being an "african" theme, the "balance" in the klickies skin color could be a little different?\ :hmm:
-
don't you think that, this being an "african" theme, the "balance" in the klickies skin color could be a little different?\ :hmm:
Whenever I read about conservationists in Africa and Indonesia, they turn out to be foreigners maybe because the foreigners are from universities and non-profits with publication expectations while the locals don't seek out National Geographic.
Were you hoping for more svelte Indian Grad students? Actually, one is probably enough to destroy most guys' hearts.
-
well tim... i don't know if i can totally agree with you... :-\
i found this in the kruger park site (picture and text):
"Conservation memories: While the plaque is unveiled by the Executive Director of the Kruger National Park, Dr Bandile Mkhize (right standing) and a representative of the Ndlovu family, Ameko Ndlovu (left standing), the plaque in his memory is read in English by KNP Section Ranger Rob Thomson (left, sitting) and in Tsonga by KNP People and Conservation representative Rhulani Mabasa (right sitting)."
-
I yield.
It is tacky Playmobil's choice of ethnic distribution.
You probably have noticed that with the dino theme, the only African man is packaged without any dinosaurs, ergo a set that will probably be last on most kids' lists.
-Tim

I was told this is a small town German toy made for home town German kids . This is just what Africa is ( to them ) and if you do not like it do not buy it . :P I will buy it and have to just put in a DS order & ( in my opinion ) more accurately represent and honor Africa and its people .
