Title: playmobil collector 2009
Post by: cachalote on November 07, 2008, 13:47:02
axel, in the german klickywelt forum, announced he is preparing this new edition.  :wow:
as far as babelfish translation can go, i was able to understand he also wants to produce a limited special edition that will include some playmo-parts.
he is showing a lego collector book as an example, and asking forum members for ideas on which parts should be included.
i think this is a great idea to commemorate playmobil's 35th anniversary.
if you are also members of the german forum, maybe you want to help axel...

Not so say I can't say a word in Deutsch, I can say ... ahn ... "Dorf" ;D

well i can't speak german either, nor am i a member of klickywelt but my suggestion would be a figure with blue trousers and a white t-shirt with the slogan 'playmofan' written in playmobil font, along with a playmo-sized book with a sticker on it that mirrors the cover of the 2009 edition.

if any of the members here who are also members of klickywelt wish to pass this idea to Axel then i would be most grateful.

cheers LHAAP and Bogro, :wow:

i don't really mind if they don't use my suggestions...but i can't wait for the new edition of Playmo Collector, and i'm really glad that it may have some 'collectors' limited edition pieces, whatever they may be  ;D

well claire, it seems that you blue/white idea is the chosen one.
... or maybe not so "chosen" but "possible".
axel, in klickywetl, just wrote:

Vielen Dank."

for what babelfish can help translate, there will be no transparent window for the clicky and it will be added to the book some other way.
the clicky itself, has to be blue and white or just blue with the words "playmobil fan" or "playmobil collector" painted on it.
maybe it won't be very spectacular but we can always be happy that the solution is based in your idea.
  ;)

i just hope that the limited edition books make it to the Uk before they all sell out!!

ooooh, it's exciting  ;D

hello I permit myself to correct the babelfish translation a little (hope you dunnot mind)

" we are a step further , Too bad there will be no transparent figure . A blue one for example or blue white one ; with a print ; "playmofan" or "playmocollector" is a possibility , I pray for examples how such figures could look like , pictures and description could be very helpfull

what Axel askes is if people who have an original idea ;for a klickie that will come with the book when you buy it ; post such ideas with pictures and a little explanation

people allready propsed the Monk , a transparant figure , the 5504 figure and so on .....

Axel's Idea behind this is that people who buy the book also become an exclusive collectorsitem that only will be available when you buy the book

so any original idea might work

all the best

Hello, Michael ...

Please tell Axel that a "highlander" with kilt would be a great original Klicky to accompany the book. It is NOT German, and it would require a new mould, but it would be a welcome addition to the Playmobil line!

BTW ... there are photos all over the place of custom Scottish Highlander Klickys.

Thanks and all the best,
Richard

Hey that transparent klickie idea sounds so great . you would be able to see the internal workings of it and it would be so unique. clear body & legs and the normal head .

i think richard and rasputin are maybe missing the idea.
as far as i could tell, axel gave up the idea of a very complex clicky inserted on the iside of the book with a transparent window.
it seems to me that "transparent" would aply to the window and not to the clicky.
as far as the customization possibilities can go, i think that a sticker in a "regular" white and blue clicky is the maximum goal.
these are not great possibilities but maybe macgayver can confirm them.

From what I read over at Klickywelt, I think that your assumptions are probably quite correct, Cachalote.

However, I would think that Playmobil could do a lot better than just a "sticker" on a plain Klicky.

Why not do something really spectacular? Why do they always seem to take the "least expensive" or the "least trouble" way out? If they can't do something with some real WOW, why bother at all?

Well, that's my two cents worth ... :2c:

All the best (and, I wish that Playmobil would also do their best),
Richard

Hello all

The trouble with different languages is allways the translation

Transparant in this subject handles about the klickie or the parts used

That means , there is no colour in the plastic ,

people who visited the factory sometimes could lay their hands on such parts , I think (not shure) those parts were made to try the mould and not for production ,it would look like you made the figure with your hot glue gun
(I hope this makes a bit sense)

I repeat : Axel's Idea behind this is that people who buy the book also become an exclusive collectorsitem (figure) that only will be available when you buy the book

I believe as it comes as an extra to the book they will not invest too much in the fabrication

I somewhere have such parts , I must go dig to find them and post a pic maybe that will explain better

finding back the parts , remembered that Playmo allready used the transparent plastic on the Ghost from the alchemist tower

I love the idea of a transparent klickie.

The examples above are translucent, i.e. they allow light to pass through, but not transparent like glass. They're also softer plastic than a klickie figure. I'd like a klickie that looked like it was made of glass throughout.

I'm not sure it's technically possible, I think the kinds of plastics that can be produced as truly transparent have different flow properties when molten and are more fragile once cool, so may not work in the same moulds, and may be too breakable to assemble and sell safely.  It would be ultra-cool though.

I have a couple of transparent 12" G.I.Joes...A transparent klickie would be cool :yup:

and think of the possibilities as ghosts, crystal statues, fantasy ice-warriors... ;D

A transparent special would sell well.

You've convinced me! Please forget the that I suggested a Highlander. Let's all vote for the transparent crystal ice-warrior ...

Sorry to dissapoint you guys but that is not in the possibilities as Axel wrote that in the first post

thought I tried to make that clear from the start  :-\

on the other hand now we discussing it , it would be fun to make one ourselves

but that will mean casting , I know a produkt that maybe could be used for it

and wich is transparant not translucent (thank you for clearing that Martin)

and it becomes very hard

I don't know yet if it is suitable for casting , need to check

Hello, Macgayver ...

Sorry to disappoint you guys but that is not in the possibilities as Axel wrote that in the first post

  :-\

Yes, you did make it clear from the start! But, we don't care ...  :P

Tell Axel to "suck it up" and stop being such a wuss ...  ::)

Axel needs to march into Zirndorf's Klicky Towers and tell Andrea and Horst that we all want a transparent special to o with the new Collector's Book. And, tell him not to take "no" for an answer!

It's about time the Collector's got the attention that they deserve!

All the best,
Richard (the trouble maker)

playmobil is already able to produce transparent pieces.
they have done drinking glasses and even blue/transparent "candelabros" (i don't know thw name in english) like the one on 4560 set.

:-\ i guess the problem is not so much playmobil not wanting to produce this transparent clicky (and it could be blue/transparent so that everybody would be happy) but the ammout of money axel wants to risk in the special edition of the collector 2009.

??? can someone speaking german tell him about this blue/transparent option?
:yup: it could even keep the "playmofan" saying in its torso.

:) thanks macgayver, but i just mixed the original idea from claire / surfer girl with the transparent-translation-mistake.
:yup: if a blue-transparent clicky is made, the credits should come form all of us.
 0) maybe, instead of "playmofan" or "playmocollector" the clicky should have "playmofriend" printed on it.

These pieces are much more brittle than regular klickie plastic though, which underlines my point about is it possible? A klickie made out of this transparent plastic whould be very liable to break.

Richard - I like the highlander idea too!

I have an invisible klicky I can mail to anyone on request.  It has no mass either.  It is really cool.

A glass klicky might be an amusing novelty item.  The only truly transparent plastic I've seen is really thin, and that looks "dirty"--not clear like glass.

I would also like it to be truly transparent . Not the fogged translucent softer material used for ghosts sheets and the humanoid . The plastic like cachalote identified in the drinking glass's that is clear, orange or green . If it is more fragile that will only add to its collection value do to the fact that so many will be broken driving the collection value up even higher . Playmobil is always bragging how they are the most advance plastic injection factory around so lets put them to the test and produce the crystal klicky

Come on Playmobil show us what you got, make our day .
