Thanks for showing us your secret room of hidden treasures :shhhh:

:wow: Fantastic collection, Ed!
That very elegant room reminds me of a museum, especially with that attractive bench in the center. It looks like a very pleasant spot from which to contemplate your impressive assembly of Playmo treasures. :)

Wonderfull room! Definitly a room to die for :-[
I am curious though. On the second picture there's a box on the right side of the red box.
Which set is that? I can't say I recognise it...

I can help with that.
It's a french box. a mix of 90's knight boxes.
number 35996.
but I like the box under that. last of third file.
can you put a bigger picture of that?
The problem is that we can not see the boxes that are hidden that others...
maybe a vitit is the best option :D. Eddy wher do you live? I can speak spanish with your wife :D

Thanks Aleon!
It definitly is a odd box - never seen it before!
But suddenly I realised there's another, more odd thing...
Playmoed - where did you get that cupboard? Isn't it too much of a coincidence that all those boxes fit smuggly inside it ????

A very nice room to have, organised and elegant. Maybe, though, I'd add a play table.

Hi Antonio,
You know I'm Dutch, but I recently moved to Nordhorn (Niedersachsen) which is very close to the Dutch border (if there are any Dutch collectors around here, it's close to Oldenzaal and Denekamp). You are more than welcome to visit me one day, I'm sure Axel can use some pictures of your boxes for the 3rd edition of the Playmobil Collector. The set you mentioned is the 5 klicky exclusive circus set from the late seventies, early eighties. Although it's not new, it's complete and the box is in superb condition. I had a great visit with Frank and Axel (and others) last Thursday, I had to travel 500 kms, but it was worth it. By the way I can speak a bit of Spanish too :-\

Hi,
I think it was a French Carrefour exclusive. Carrefour is similar like Walmart in the US. It's actually a suitcase and like Antonio said a combination of 2 or 3 individual Playmobil sets. The cupboard was customly made (no just kidding), it's pure coincidence that these boxes fit so perfectly. All the other cupboards are from Ikea with the exception of the big glass cabinet. All my really rare stuff I have displayed in this room, the rest is down in the cellar (luckily dry) :-[

Thank you, entrance fee is 5 euros ;D You're right, I recently moved to another house and I'm happy that I had this spare room where I could display part of my collection. Sometimes I do sit on this bench and think about the crazy amount of money I spent on it. But hey, it makes me happy and luckily I am not the only crazy collector out there 0)

:) axel has come back from Florida!? great :)
there is a meeting in OHZ in November 8th. do you know if you, Axel or Frank are going there?
yes I have some pictures for Axel. All famobil collection, and some other exclusives boxes than I have been geting during last 2 years. :)
-
Wow! Nice! I see a lot of sets I'd love to open up and play with! ;)

If you hadn't said you were kidding, I would have believed you! ;D
Like Bogro, I was surprised at how well those boxes fit into the shelving compartments.
Your Playmobil room is amazing. It would be nice to see some sets out of their boxes too, but I can appreciate that some collectors prefer to keep their sets sealed. 8-)
I hope you have your collection insured. It would be incredibly difficult (perhaps even impossible with regards the rollercoaster set) and prohibitively expensive to replace some of that stuff. ;)

That is a great collection, beautifully displayed!
Thanks for showing us :yup:.
Best regards,
Jimbo

Hi Antonio,
I don't know exactly where that is, but it seems a small fair to me. Maybe one day we'll meet again.

Were you planning to come over ? On February 9 a couple of us (MIB collectors) will go to the Neurenberg Fair again, maybe you could join us.

a great collection playmoed. :wow:
i am actually building a special cupboard for my collection (i am waiting for the carpenter to finish it).
i only have 107 sets, still waiting in boxes ever since i moved home.
i have a question for you playmoed - don't you think that yout sets get a little sad staying on the dark inside their boxes? ???
-
Hi,
No most of my klickys have been in the dark for more than 30 years, so they are used to it I guess :wow:. Yep, we 'mint in box' collectors are a rare breed. For instance with the blisterpacks it gives me a huge thrill that after 34 years they are still unopened, that's difficult to explain. Especially the blisterpacks are very hard to find, so I'm happy that I have a bunch of them 8}
Regards,
Eddy

well, eddy, we all have some kind of compulsive freaky behaviour.
i guess that what might seem to some of us as "rare" options are quite "normal" to others...
-
Great collection, Eddy
Over the years, I've been very fortunate to be able to buy two (or more) sets when I really wanted to keep one as MIB.
I probably would never buy a rare old MIB set that I didn't have. I know that I'd want to open it just to be sure that it was really in the box ...
Thanks for sharing your wonderful collection.
All the best,
Richard

The first picture made me think of a museum (especially with the bench in the middle). You've really displayed you're Playmo in a way that's worthy of such a great toy.
Even with me being an out of box collector. I can image the extra special feel of having a collection MIB and MISB. I too a a few small items that i've kept MISB.
