Post by: playmofire on July 04, 2008, 14:12:13
There's a new book out by Richard Unglik, see below.

Maybe one of our German members can come up with more details.

Hi Gordon

Thanks for the picture. Where have have you find this bigger version? (Amazon, right? ;))

I've mentioned the book in another thread. Please check this link (http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=2314.msg25838#msg25838).
The book will be available this autumn. (I've subscribed to the publisher's newsletter = as soon as it is released I'll know it :))

EDIT: Answer to myself.

Ah, sorry, I haven't been following that thread closely.

Using my very basic German, I realised that the title is "Playmobil World of Animals" (and this is confirmed with your link) so Tim Tierman will be a customer I should think.  I wonder if his site gets a mention?

And yes, the bigger picture came from Amazon.de.

Needless to say I do find this interesting. I've added myself to their mail list on this one. Perhaps Playmobil will carry it like they have the past ones.

Amazon France and Germany on the brightside carry it.  Shipping is about US$30 though.  But at least Amazon ships overseas efficiently (I once ordered a bunch of Peyo comics from France).

The German publisher is Heel Verlag as with the the other Unglik book. I don't know about the Belgian  :-\

They have mentioned the book on the German Klickywelt (http://www.klickywelt.de/neues-buch--und-quot%3Bdie-welt-der-tiere-und-quot%3B-t29190.html) but no more information than here.

I am shocked by the attitude of Richard. I banned him from stealing my creations and put them in his book. richard has not taken into account when he was not my permission. I do not intend to stop there.
Steal the images of others to make the graphic collage I do not see where the talent.
Here the evidence of this theft:
On GP
http://generationsplaymo.forumsfree.org/tribune-libre-avec-playmobil-france-f25/le-tour-du-monde-d-unglik-t699.htm#9222

On Uchronys

It's despicable behavior toward some creative because richard does not even know, for most of us who did what.

Richard, you were calling me for that reason. I contacted playmobil France.

It's his third book. The first one was issued before the Romans came out, and the second was about animals. This third one is a trip around the world if I remember correctly. (Had it on a flash key, erased it, won't buy it).
It seems Mr. Unglik used some people's pictures without permission, which could cost him a lot, I think he'll have to negociate, otherwise they say it's a 5000€ fine for every issue of the book sold...D2's gonna be  a rich (but angry) man.
Now, i wish Richard Unglik had used some of my pictures without permission, so I could sue him! :P

Not to stir the pot, I'm not invested in this, but did Mr. D2 get permission from Lucasfilm to create Star Wars customs?  Just wondering if that is an all together different deal because he's not making money off of it like the guy who wrote the book.   ???
Title: Re: New Richard Unglik Playmobil book

Right. I think that's the difference is that D2 is not doing it for monetary gain. If he were selling star wars figures, he might get in trouble. Even if he did sell one on ebay or something it would not be worth a lawsuit.

2 el jefe & bonniebeth: You're both right. It's just the question of ownership for the pictures that matters. You cannot steal peolple's work like that, even if it's just a hobby for most of us, and an actual work...
