when they are in the US catalog and not in the German one does that mean they are Discontinued? Because there is a lot of nice old sets not in this one. If so it is time to stock up .

That's almost always what it means!

Interesting, the Egyptians have a release date of end of August 2008. I wonder when they'll hit the UK?

The 4444 Pirate gunboat hasn't appeared in the UK catalogue for 2008, but the Lighthouse is new for us this year. Hope we get the gunboat in 2009.

The specials are similar release dates to the UK, and of course the footballers have to come out across Europe in time for the 2008 World Cup. How embarrassing to see all those great European teams, and no room for poor England who couldn't make the grade.  :'(

I am not surprised to see that the Barbarians HAVE been discontinued!

No, their colour scheme was a bit odd. I've got a few, but they don't really do anything for me.

I'm also glad to see that the Romans have not been discontinued Richard. But i am a little disappointed that there isn't any new sets expanding on the theme.

I did notice the Cleopatra and Gladiator specials have disappeared.

Hello, Grant ...

I'm also glad to see that the Romans have not been discontinued Richard. But i am a little disappointed that there isn't any new sets expanding on the theme.

I think that a lot of us were hoping for an expansion of the Roman theme. Especially after seeing the Roman family add-ons and the beautiful Roman buildings that Collectobart created for Playmobil's animated introduction to the Roman theme.

I did notice the Cleopatra and Gladiator specials have disappeared.

They are both still available on the US website, so I guess that we'd better get them while we can!

Thanks Andi for this great link!  :D

Where did you find it? I didn't see any link to it on the Playmobil homepage?!?  ???

This is really a cool application where you can download each single page in high quality. So now I can start my digital catalogue archive without making annoying scans of the paper version. Don't know, why they didn't started this earlier. For Playmobil it must be that easy having all the digital master of the catalogues.

Do you Andi (or any other person) know if this electronic version is also available for the "current" catalogue (or even older versions)?

Hello, Jochen ...

Do you Andi (or any other person) know if this electronic version is also available for the "current" catalogue (or even older versions)?

I downloaded only twenty pages from the 2007-2008 catalogue. These were Playmobil items that were of interest to me.

They are saved as PDF files. And, they are large!

The front cover alone is 3.5MB!

If you want these twenty pages (which include the front and back covers), I am happy to post these for you on the gardenwargaming.com site, so that you can download them from there.

All the best my friend,
Richard

wow...

I am so happy at the end the pirate line will include some Spanish "conquistadores", with their helmets!! (although they are two centuries -1500s- before the Playmobil pirates -1700s-, so I think we can fight the conquistadores with the pirates, but not with the soldiers that typically accompanied the pirate sets). My avatar is an Spanish "conquistador", after all.  ;D

I now want a Galleon for the Spaniards' American silver, as well as some Aztecs to fight the "conquistadores"!!!  8}

Many of us would love to see Playmobil make Aztecs, Incas and Maya ... :)

Unfortunately, Playmobil may think that they have already made them with their Jungle theme.

Thank you for the images, and you seem to be Richard.

They look like the aborigins in King Kong.

Man, do you imagine a King Kong line, with the big bugs??

I would get crazy 8} 8} 8}
