Title: The Wurst Baron Percy
Post by: neo2116 on July 02, 2017, 11:41:14
Chief ambulance created by the surgeon of the Grand Army
To rescue the injured, he traveled all the empire's battlefields.
The Wurst system was borrowed from the Austrians and Bavarians at the beginning of the formation of the first flying artillery companies 1792.Il was first used to transport ammunition and proving too fragile, it was used for transportation of doctors, surgeons and nurses on the battlefield.

How did that work in real life? I mean, how did they not just fly off?

"Funny, I was thinking just that"..

in addition to Neo's modelling skills, I'm amazed an envy those klicky legs straddling their seats and with their bent tailcoats
...so these are casted not 3D prints yet. (I thought their helmets etc were 3D prints at first....Neo, how do you personally rate 3D against casting?

The line between "playmo-customising" and "real modelling" gets really thin here...
Impressive customising/modelling work, like with the other wagons & canons in your other threads. The shaping and positioning of the klickies on the wagon is very nice.  8-)

I checked your profile and see you are very near to Lille (Rijsel)...
Have you yet been to the playmo-expositions of Templeuve (FR) or Seneffe (BE)? Have you or are you perhaps planning to take part with your work?

Look at the model.
The two at each end are holding on to handholds while the ones in the middle are holding on to the person in front of them like a motorcycle passenger.

The third guy back in both pics doesn't seem to be holding on to anything or anyone.

Holding each other seems common though. Also it's a field ambulance so it's designed to remove the wounded, not speed them to surgery, they wouldn't be going that fast.

A guess, but in an age where horse riding was common I would imagine that holding onto things with your thighs was second nature.

Good point about the thighs. Thigh-gripping is a neglected skill these days.
