Well, I think this is kinda different from an exihbit or a review....
I have mixed feelings about this. It's sacrilege, for starters!
Then.. in a way, they are cute (duh, playmo!), but they are the wrong size - so what do we want them for?!
AND ... well.. I hate ninja turtles (who came up with THAT idea!? even sillier than biker mice from Mars or whatever it was)... I don't know anything from Doctor Who (apart from the name), barely know Willy Wonka (it was a Johnny Depp movie), don't really like Ghostbusters (why OH WHY!?).. And not a REAL fan of Back To The Future. So..
My wallet rejoices.
What I DO want is all those hairs in normal playmoversions.
-
I actually wish they were in the smaller, normal size... I probably will skip them at the 6 inch sizes, though Willy Wonka, Marty McFly, and the two Doctor Who Klickies are gorgeous in my opinion.
-
Dr Who fan so I will get the two of those probably, and of course I must get the Willy Wonka ones since I work for a chocolate company. That is the Gene Wilder Willy Wonka version, and not the later Johnny Depp one btw. I like the looks of those four the best also. It will be interesting to see if their Ghost Busters does ok since it's up against real Playmobil ones this year. They may need to keep the license streams separate for best success.
Ghostbusters joke: They really shouldn't cross the license streams...

The downward spiral continues.

Note how we find out about this from OTHER places. Just sayin'

I feel betrayed by Geobra in so many ways 8}
but looking on the positive side....with Geobra entering the licensing world, we'll be able to get some new parts whenever they are of similar size and compatible
-
6 inch figures?? So that is 15,2 cm, twice the size of a normal klicky...
Maybe one for use as a giant? I can´t think of another way to incorporate such one in my own playmo.
As a range of seperate collectible items for display, I´m totally not interested in them.
Additionally their looks are not very playmo-like anymore imho, so I agree that the downward spiral continues. ::)

Agreed about their looks, and not just their faces - they seem quite inanimate, solid, staring, plastic lumps.
-
I definitely like the looks of the regular Playmobil Ghostbusters line better.
If licensing is what finally gets Playmobil some ground in the US market, okay. Its a relative unknown. Like I said before, if these were standard size klickies, I'd probably own them. Even the Oompa Loompa (which terrified me as a child).

I hate ninja turtles (who came up with THAT idea!? even sillier than biker mice from Mars or whatever it was)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles actually predated the Biker Mice by a decade. They were originally a black and white comic book, intended as an underground parody of Frank Miller's style, and were originally pretty gritty and violent. They were a big hit in the alternative comics world, and spawned dozens of imitators (Adolescent Radioactive Black-Belt Hamsters for example - I'll never forget that one).
A few years on the original creators (Eastman and Laird) sold the license. TMNT got modified (made lighter and sillier), and became a massive hit in the mainstream pop culture, spawning a second wave of imitations, which the Biker Mice were part of.
Licensing is a sword with at least two edges.

And a point - making money, although not necessarily to the benefit of the product's reputation.

I had no idea. I only knew them from the silly cartoons... I believe there was something after that we watched, so we endured that. That said, Shredder is cool. :P
-
I think I actually like them, specially Marty McFly and Willy Wonka.
On the other hand ... those Karate lizards things..... are REVOLTING! :-X
-
The eyes seem too big. I have no use for them. I'm much happier with normal size historical klickies than bug-eyed licensed giants.
-
Well... if they were "normal" big klickys, I'd want a couple :-[ (wallet rejoices!) You know, same as the gorgeous Leblon statues or the XXL guy or the shower gels..
Being a license.. had to be one I was a fan of. Not the case. (wallet again rejoices!)
They DO look cute. Some.

Like I mentioned in another thread, I would have been all over these if they had been compatible with the rest of my Playmobil figures and playsets.
I would have loved to have a Doctor Who klicky to travel between the various Playmo universes.

Well.. YES. The weird turtles would be going to the weirdos fairies akibox :P

Sad but true.... :'(

I want Willy Wonka's hat as a regular Playmo part. It would add variety to the Victorian hats.

My feeling is that the hat is not detachable, though I may be very wrong. The packaging says that Wonka is a 2-piece, & the figure has a walking stick or cane in its hand, which I think must be the additional piece beyond the "clickie."

Wonka himself would add a little variety to the Victorian.
And of reduced to normal Klicky size, the dwarf body for the Oompa Loompas would be great!

Even if it was detachable, it would be useless, as AFAIK the figures are about 15 cmts tall :'( (6 inches)
-
Some of them work, like Willie Wonka, some others don't, like the Ninja Turtles. Don't like the stupid increase to six inches. I think Funko is trying to target the people who buy their Pop! figures, if you've seen those.

Thank you, Graham. It seemed too good an opportunity to miss.

I think you are right. It looks fixed on the doll. I want a shrunken, detachable, Playmo hat in a similar style.
