Title: Unidentified Parts
Post by: Raven on August 24, 2016, 11:38:10
Inspired by Graham B's post here (http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=15788.0), I searched through a bag of bits and pieces that I had previously put aside as Not Playmobil.  And I found quite a lot of Playmobil amongst the Made in Chinas, Lego pieces, and general oddities.  With much help from others more knowledgeable than myself, many parts are now identified, but I still can't find out what the following parts are, or where they come from.

(http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i157/Raven461/Parts1_zps4qcegd2y.jpg) (http://s71.photobucket.com/user/Raven461/media/Parts1_zps4qcegd2y.jpg.html)

(http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i157/Raven461/Parts2_zpsepyfzxcr.jpg) (http://s71.photobucket.com/user/Raven461/media/Parts2_zpsepyfzxcr.jpg.html)

tahra suggested that number 1 came from a space set, and number 23 looked like a baby carriage cover, but I still can't find them.  Also that 28 and 29 has string threaded through - but I don't know for what purpose, or in what set.

The rest are a total mystery to me.  I'm sure I've seen number 9 before, but I can't remember where.

6 - seems part of a foldable bench - Birdie figured it out!
23 - the cover of the pram crib in the western farmhouse
26 - used to close bags - not sure if playmobil, but maybe it was used in packaging a set
27 - part of the winch that is usually present in the 4x4 jeeps and such (in front)
28+29 - go with that rope thing, used to secure it

10 - surely an axle (is that the word) for a wagon or trailer (taking wheels on the side)
21 - could it be part of a concertina? (what the clown plays?)
24 - must be part of one of those racers - must take wheels on the sides

6 I think can be attached to the back of a chalk board from the market place. You know, the ones from the fruit and vegetable stalls and such.

16 & 17 go on the side of a school chalk board

There's other stuff I recognise, but I can't put my finger on it... Frustrating  ;D

11 I believe goes with a wheel axle (and turns)

27 is the crank for a wench

20 covers the "tool box" on the side of a trailer or wagon

16/17 are one of the parts that goes with the chalkboards in the school sets

28 and 29 actually go with the climbing rigs for the mountain climbers from the alpine sets (I think)

Edited my post - the cover is for the crib, not the pram.. And Birdie is right about 6!

My guess on 21 is wrong.  :-[

I don't know what it is then.. but now I am curious!

You know, 13 looks like a piece that holds Victorian roof parts together. There's a wedding pavilion, one version is in pink and one in yellow, made from Victorian steck parts, and a darkblue greyish piece just like 13 is used to hold the top of the roof in place.

Could it be that top part there?

I think Birdie is right, I knew it looked familiar!

This is all amazing!  And has enabled me to discover some missing parts of things in my 'incomplete items' boxes.

I still can't find the part numbers for 11 and 24, though it may be that I'm searching on the wrong keywords.

20 is puzzling.  It seems to be this:

http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-03-4850

But when I look at the instructions for that set:

http://playmobil.scene7.com/is/content/Playmobil/3070pdf.pdf

I can't see that part there.  The battery cover is totally different.

4 looks like it should go on the back of a motorbike.  I'll continue searching for that!

Could 4 be this: link (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-62-4682)

And 24: from this one: 4183 (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=4183)
Title: Re: Unidentified Parts
Post by: Raven on August 25, 2016, 11:18:36
Oh yes!  :D  Thank you!

And now I've realised that some silver parts still in the Not Playmobil bag are indeed Playmobil after all, and are more parts of that 4183 Green Racer.

I'm happy to know where that motorbike part comes from.  It mystified me because I couldn't think of any motorbike that had a rear light and indicators like that.

I don't think I've got the motorbike body to go with it, but I do have a bag of motorbike parts that I put aside years ago (for sorting out 'one day'), so I will check.

14 looks like the counterweight that raises and lowers the drawbridge for the take-along castle 4440. http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-27-8570 (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-27-8570)

I think 11 is the hinge that holds the board covered in spikes. http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-09-9530 (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-09-9530)

Yes!  They are the parts.

Thank you - and especially for where number 11 goes - because I don't think I could have found that out from the instruction manuals for those sets.

Thanks too. I have the rocket booster from that second set and was wondering where it came from. Saves me searching.

Any thoughts on 21 anyone?

21 - could it be part of a concertina? (what the clown plays?)

Your strikethrough is incorrect Tahra! That's to say, 21 IS part of the concertina (accordion) from the hospital and a couple of other sets!

:o  It is?

 ;D

Looking at it, I thought so.. but when I later looked at a pic of the accordion.. well, didn't look like it...

Do you know the part number for that accordion piece?  I only know of the red accordion which came with the 4404 hospital.

The 67 shows its a composite part made up of two or more sub-parts (I hope I am quoting Heather accurately here), in this case the red outer and the White back and knobs. I will post a picture later.....

I don't think the sub-part numbers are known though :(

 ;D  Thank you!  Wonderful!

I dug out my red accordion (which I've never used) from that hospital set, and realised for the first time that it is half an accordion.....

I've now fitted that white part onto the back of it, and it is a so much more an attractive and complete accordion.  How on earth did I miss the incompleteness of it before?

Now I have a lovely accordion.  The white keys on it are so cool.

It is going to need to creep its way into my next scene, for sure.

I always find it really satisfying when you get the missing part for a piece of PM like that!

Your recent 'shopping mall for rent' diorama gave me an idea for a photo contest challenge and the idea of trying to include certain things in a scene (accordion, dovecote, whatever) reinforced it. So I am off to post that idea now!

Oh and here is the proof about that white part..

Thank you.  I have the klickies from the 4471 Harbour Police, so I'm guessing it came with them .... minus the rest of the boat!
