Title: turning key-rings into simple figures
Post by: cachalote on July 04, 2007, 17:36:58
 :)
i am thinking on expanding my pirate collection adding some key-rings figures.
i would like to transform them, though, in "normal" figures - removing the chain and the ring atteched to rheir heads.
 ???
can this be done without damage?
can any of you help me?

i don't know if the hats and hair come attached to the heads or if it is the chain that hold them together.
my objective would be to have the figures without holes, just like "normal" ones.
thank you.

Keychain figures are exactly the same as any other Playmobil figure. :yup:

The chain is easy to remove but it will of course leave a hole in the hairpiece (and hat, if there is one). This is easily fixed by giving the figure a new hairpiece and/or hat. :)

To remove the chain, just hold the figure's body with one hand and hold on to the small ring closest to the head with your other hand. Then all you need do is twist the metal part slowly out of the head. (I can't remember if you do this clockwise or anti-clockwise because it's a while since I de-chained one. :P)

It's very unlikely you will damage the figure by doing this, as the chain is only attached to the head and hairpiece. :)

 :wow:
thank you sylvia and argand.
so, all i have to do is to unwind the screw with the small ring head.
it looks very easy.
i will start by looking on ebay for identical hair and hat pieces and then turn into the complete key-rings afterwards.
thank you both again.
