Hi everyone!
My name is Jeff, and I joined a few months ago and have already gotten some great feedback from many of you - thanks for the warm welcome already. Figured it was high time I actually introduced myself more formally.
While I have been a Playmobil fan since childhood, it was only in the past year that my love of Playmobil has been rekindled. I have a pretty demanding finance-type job, and in the past year, I've so enjoyed the chance to reengage the creativity and fun that is what Playmobil is all about. I also have three young children, and getting down on my hands and knees with them for hours to come up with stories has been a wonderful joy.
My collecting thus far has been purely in the medieval category, and I have amassed a pretty nice collection of steck castle parts and people. I have particularly loved building castles, villages and medieval buildings. I think I've about hit my space capacity for building parts...as well as my marriage's capacity...but continue to acquire parts, people and accessories. I started with my 3450 castle from childhood and in the past 6 months have probably grown my buildings parts about tenfold.
I really look forward to learning from and sharing with you all. Thanks in advance for being willing to open up this quirky, fun part of yourselves! I look forward to doing the same.
Attaching a photo of my latest medieval town set up. More to do this weekend!

Welcome from Portugal!
Love that pic - looks like a real nice setup.. Hope to see details... That "bridge" at the back seems great..
And that is quite some space! :)

Thanks! One question on posting pics...I can't post anything larger than 100 KB, but it looks like many members post files larger and higher res than that. Any tips?
And here's a slightly closer (but low res) picture of the bridge...

I believe most people use a photo hosting site.. I used imgur (link) (http://imgur.com/) on occasion...
You can upload your pics there and it will provide an url to link to.

Very nice :) That is something (else) I always wanted to try..

Thanks for the tip!

Hello from Brooklyn New York!

Welcome from Tennessee!
-
G'day from New Zealand 8-)

Welcome from Alabama!
It's great to see another Southerner on here (you count too, Leefert)!
I'm super impressed with your setup and I'm also really curious about the bridge! Please do post some higher res pictures when you have time.

How's the Playmobil shopping environment down there in Atlanta?
-
I'm curious too! Is it worth a road trip?
-
Welcome! :)

Thanks for the welcomes, everyone. I have to say Atlanta's not exactly a thriving Playmobil market. Nearly everything in my collection has come from eBay.

Ok, finally got a few high res pictures uploaded.
Here's the front of the main castle. There's a jail through the double arch...will post more detailed pics of that at some point.

And here's a higher res picture of the bridge connecting the right tower to the main castle.

I've also been building out the market place. A few more pieces coming soon, but here's where it stands today.

I'll try to start posting more pictures with additional detail in the coming days and weeks.

:)
I really love that bridge!
Edit:
This is my tiny bridge experience, from the PROCESS - Link (http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=8205.msg246236#msg246236)
(but I wanna do one like yours!)

I love the bridge and the whole town! But I also really enjoyed your set ups from another thread as well.
That's too bad that the shopping isn't much better. Beyond my initial purchases from my friends' toy store, I've also been limited to ebay and craigslist in cities where I have friends or family.

Oh, it's gorgeous
Thanks for sharing the pictures!

Like the double wide bridge, and the way you expanded the tower at the top was also really cool!

Welcome from Belgium :)
Thanks - fun to connect with people around the world here
