Title: How many legionaries it's possible to have.
Post by: Macruran on February 01, 2016, 18:23:43
Last year as US Yankees know PM.US had about thirty or forty 20% sales. For some reason I got in the compulsive habit of buying as many 7878s (3 Roman legionaries) as possible, which is nine at a time.

I can now reveal the extent of my acquisition.

I missed some of the early sales, and I've already opened some of the packages, so this isn't an accurate representation of what was possible.

But it's still a lot.

I count 118 packages of 3 klickies each, so: 354 reserve troops for the fighting XXIIIrd. I've got about 70 unpackaged so about 425 total soldiers.

I was going to stop doing it this year but I have just noticed that the regular price for 7878 is now 8.99, in other words a permanent 20% discount. So when the next 20% sale comes I'll be able to save money!

I like to think that I am singlehandedly responsible for the reintroduction of the Roman theme.

Yeah the full legion is halfway set up, I am getting close to photos and a big wodge of text explaining everything.

However you and I differ on detwinning, tahra. I will be using the stock legionaries and other klickies with very little modding. Sorry to disappoint you but I must follow my heart in this regard.

Probably... they are hoping that you'll boost the sales of the new sets!

Well, you have me beat... On set 7878 I only have 93 sets or 279 Roman soldiers.

Haha, I really love this, to see you indulge your love for this set.
Fully understandable, for me it is the most beautiful roman soldier that Playmobil has made, what do you think?
One of the nice aspects of this forum for me is to watch how others even more yield to their craving for playmobil than I do.

It's a damn fine figure, one that attains an almost perfect balance between classic Playmobil style and historical detail. I rank it very highly. However I must give the laurels to 4659, the blue Praetorian guard. That one is in a class by itself.

I believe that is called Schadenfreude.
