Hi everyone!
My name is Aleshia and I love Playmobil! :-) It all started when I was a child growing up with horses. Naturally, I fell in love with the country and equestrian sets and spent hours playing with my little horses and farm animals. At some point, I packed them away (but never got rid of them!).
About 5 or so years ago, I was checking out a toy store on vacation and saw a wall of Playmobil and that old excitement came back at the sight of the good old blue boxes. I immediately picked up a horse set (the horses looked so much better now!) and bought it on a whim. That started a whole new hobby (now as an adult in my 30s), collecting Playmobil! :-)
I primarily collect and set up dioramas of country sets and dinos (I’ve always loved dinosaurs!), but I also dabble in wildlife (forest animals). Anything nature really. I also made the “mistake” of picking up the Western Fort on sale recently, so I guess now I have to start collecting Western sets too! LOL :-)
That’s it for now. Thank you for allowing me to introduce myself and I’m looking so forward to sharing this wonderful hobby with other Playmobil lovers!

Funny enough, I was born and raised in Victoria! We live in Kelowna currently, but are hoping to move back to the island in the next couple of years. :) I miss it so much!!

Hi Aleshia, and welcome. I love your avatar!
I hope you'll share photos of your dioramas. I'd very much like to see them....

Hello there, welcome to the forum from a fellow collector in her thirties. I live in Antwerp, Belgium
Please do share your diorama pictures!
I also made the “mistake” of picking up the Western Fort on sale recently, so I guess now I have to start collecting Western sets too! LOL :-)
Ah yes, I've been known to make that mistake many times before ;D

Welcome from Portugal! ;)

Welcome from another BC collector!
If you ever are in the lower mainland, I'm guessing that you've been to Toy Traders in Langley! They moved last year to a new location that is three times the size. Their Playmo selection is the best by far! Ditto their displays!

Oh no, I didn't need to know that! LOL  No, I've never been there, but now I'll have to make sure I do!! I also do a lot of on-line shopping at PlayValueToys...great selection of new and discontinued and good sales. ;D

Thank you for the welcomes! :)
As for dioramas, unfortunately there isn't much to show as we don't have a large place right now and most of my good stuff is packed away. :'( However, we have managed to recently squeeze a 4x6 foot table in our living area. It's not very professional and it changes daily! (yes, I've managed to get my husband involved and he has his medieval castle and music stage set up) My side changes from week to week and makes absolutely no sense (dinosaurs in the horse barn and trolls in the western fort, etc) It would drive professional diorama-makers nuts!
We hope to move to a larger place in the next few years though...I can't wait as then I'll have the Playmobil ROOM of my dreams and some real diorama making can begin!!

^ Everything that I ever do is on my dining table. :) The backdrop (a light brown blind) is boring, and in winter (or summer rain!) the light is dreadful. There is only an energy-saving wall light on that side of the room.
But it doesn't matter!
We don't all have perfect set-ups (or perfect Playmobil ... so much of mine is secondhand), but we can have fun anyway, and share the fun we have.
And I love mixing things up. The 'wrong things' seem to get in everywhere.

So please share anyway!

Don't worry, there's no such thing ;D If there were, it would be the coolest job in the world though...

Welcome from Oregon!
It doesn't matter how much Playmobil you have there will never be enough space. If you get a room for it then it will be full faster than you would think. So just enjoy what space you have and do what you can do - it's all about having fun.
