Mr Raven and I made an apartment block. There are seven apartments spread over seven floors, plus a roof garden belonging to the top apartment. For decoration, we used wallpapers and flooring from the following websites:
Jennifer's Printables (http://www.jennifersprintables.com/)
Rwetzell Printables (http://s607.photobucket.com/user/rwetzell/library/?sort=3&page=1)

A single man lives here. Although he is alone in the apartment at the moment, he enjoys entertaining, and he has created more space for visiting friends by installing a platform bed.

I will continue later with views of the top three apartments and the roof garden....

Very cool!
-
What fun! Great job.
-
That is really an elaborate system x building. I really like how each persons room reflects their interests. Great creation, thanks for sharing.
-
Fantastic!! It's so much fun to browse through the pictures
Can't wait to get a good look at the roof garden, it looks promising. Great job with the wallpapers and furnishing (each his or her own style, I love it)

:) Well, here's the rest of it.....
Floor 4
The couple who have been living here are now expecting a baby, and so are moving out and into a house.

Floor 5
The trendy couple who live here like their apartment to look like a furniture showroom. They currently have a visitor and are socialising on the balcony.

Floor 6 and the Roof Garden
The top floor apartment is owned by a couple who like to show off their wealth. They are very fond of orange, gold and pink, with just a touch of blue.

Absolutely brilliant! Love all the appartments, but the rooftop one is best.... ;D
-
That's amazing, and so many details for each floor
Love the trash + recycle bins on the side too!
-
Each apartment is really its own place, I love how you decorated them with the wallpapers and everything! so many little details! :)
Will you use it for a new story? I'm curious who will move in now that the young couple is moving out..
-
Really great creation,
I like the look of the 2nd floor but it would get a ladder to the roof immediately, that's a nice retreat for living in a housing block.
how's being a slumlord to playmobil people ?
they pay their rent with smiles ;D
-
I really enjoyed the tour, looking at other people's way of life and tastes is always fascinating. Lots of nice touches here, though the high level bed (floor 2) and the green toadstools (floor 6) made me smile the most!
Do the couple in the ground floor flat need a long-handled broom to let the party guy above know when to turn his stereo down, or are they blissfully hard of hearing?
-
Nice. I love that the backstory allows all that disparate furniture to be used in one custom!
Princess bed in the same set-up as a bunk bed? No problem.
It's like our whole spare parts bin used at once. (Well, if our parts bin was 3X larger.....)
-
Nice work all those apartments look great I really like how each apartment reflects the personality of its owners particularly the artists and the ecologists feel very appropriate and also I like the party guys apartment nicely furnished that hanging down bed is a pretty neat idea.
-
It's like our whole spare parts bin used at once. (Well, if our parts bin was 3X larger.....)
That's kind of the way it was. Having bought yet another (secondhand) hospital for building parts, Mr Raven and I realised that we now had seven-floors' worth of hospital elevator, and we wondered if it would be possible to use that to create seven apartments without noticably repeating furnishings and accessories, and with some sort of individuality for each floor. It was like a personal challenge.
It sits on the dining table and is blocking light from the window. We eat in its shadow. (And with very little space.) But it is difficult to think of dismantling it because we are so pleased with what we achieved, just using whatever bits and pieces we happened to have - from many a different set and theme.
@Rhalius: No, no stories. I don't think there will be any stories for quite a long time because in-between getting distracted by other buildings like this, Mr Raven and I are aiming at building such a large size zoo (with a story!) that it will probably take a year or so to complete....
@GrahamB The retired couple grit their teeth and shake their heads regarding the younger people in the building. But, actually, the younger people also get a bit uptight when the retired folks' noisy grandchildren come to visit.
-
...the younger people also get a bit uptight when the retired folks' noisy grandchildren come to visit.
Aha - there are stories here!
[In our house, its the old folks (in a 'granny annexe' though there is probably a more PC term nowadays) whose television volume causes the rest of us to grumble....]
-
An Excellent custom structure, with tons of interesting detail. You could probably do small stories off this one structure for a year while you are working on the zoo. I suppose you will eventually want the structure parts for the zoo but much of the rest wouldn't even overlap that much. Worth a thought.
-
A shame there wont be a story with this one, but I am looking forward to that zoo and the story that goes with it! :)
-
A superb custom piece with lots of detail and atmosphere with it. I like the simple commentary no each apartment and its owners. That tells us all we need to know and the rest we can make up for ourselves.
-
Great pictures. I really like the carefully chosennwallpapers to fit its owners character.
-
Fantastic creation, that's certainly a lot of Sys-X! Great job! :)
-

This made me laugh out loud. It sounds familiar
-
This is absolutely awesome! I really love floor two. The colors are so nice and I love the platform bed. That was brilliant! Also the trendy apartment. Loved the penguin on the coffee table. And that rich couple's apartment was something else! Anyway, really lovely. Love all the details, all the floors and wallpapers and how each apartment is so unique. Great job.
-
What a wonderful building - love how each apartment is so individual and reflects the occupants' interests.
I also saw lots of different pieces of furniture I hadn't really noticed before, I must find out which sets they come from.

As everyone else has commented, this is a fantastic creation. Your introduction to each resident is perfect, and lets the imagination wander. I am not sure which is my favorite apartment, but it is fun to see the different kitchens , bathrooms, bedrooms and sitting rooms you have assembled. Like Skypurr said, there are quite a few I do not recognize, I have obviously fallen behind in my Playmobil knowledge. I agree with everyone, I hope you do not need to dismantle it, just remodel bits and pieces as you steal for your zoo project. I actually built a seven floor medical center/hospital that originally sat on our table, as well. I have decided not to dismantle it and because it actually has a relatively small footprint, it now sits on a cabinet upstairs in my studio, thank goodness for 10 foot ceilings. It would be fun if you could find a spot to keep it, and just have the tenants move in and out and give you a chance to showcase new furnishings. Would the wallpaper and rugs be difficult to remove? Maybe you could just decorate over them, just like real apartments.
Thank you for sharing, this was so much fun.
