Hey guys!
I've been more off than on the forum this year, and I wonder how I can still be called a moderator -and why I wasn't kicked out from the mod team, also- though I've noticed that you members did behave.
I have spent a lot of time 3D designing for klickies, mostly for the eras I prefer: Antique Greece vs Persia, Romans and Gauls, etc...but also some WW1 and 2 things that i won't show here.
So, here are my latest. There's quite a lot, I may need several posts to sort them by theme. First the 3D renders, then the real life objects. Please, forgive my painting, I know it's not my best, but I' trying!!!
Let's start with my latest from the Hoplite helmets series: the bronze attic helmet.

and the real model:

The one before last:

Almost same era, the Hoplomaqus shield:

The persians. Now, they're not the Persians from Xeres' army in 300!, which is a good movie, esthetically speaking, but historically a mess. Those are inspired from real wall paintings, Osprey's and re-enactment pictures, etc... Much closer to the reality of warfare at that era.

That's it for this post! I'm separating the Gauls and Romans, because there's a lot of Gaul stuff. :xgift:

And a lot of them working with hair!
-
Simply great designs you are bringing to playmo life.
-
Truly impressive 8-)
I don't see anything wrong with your painting, btw. I like the colour schemes you picked out.

@Queen: Yes, Tahra, but the wig often makes the helmet too big. My Gauls are not bold, though, you'll see that afterwards.
@Walter: thanks!
@Birdie: Thanks for noticing! I'm quite proud of the colour themes, because I actually spent some time choosing one for each army/group. But you should see what a friend of mine does with the same objects...

They look great! <*)
-
Look fantastic, I really love some of those helmets!

Malone makes beautiful casting
and you make beautiful 3D prints
so both of yours & Malone's dreams are realized :xmascheer:
....while I'll have to just keep dreaming about Asian (given up hoping for Geobra) or wish for :sleigh:

Fantastic ideas and work!

You should see the result when we work together! :)

Great work they really look good particularly the Persians I think the painting really helps bring them to life and the colours are indeed very nice, I think the helmet with the rope in particular could be useful for many different Klickies of a similar era. Oh eys and great use of the Genie Klicky :).
-
Excellent work!! They look great!!
George. :)

Very well done! :)9

A couple more Hoplites and a Persian warrior with a new shield.

I like all your 3D prints....important thing is to keep them looking like how PM would have made them

So cool. Really dig the Persians. Or are they Medes?
I guess one man's Mede is another man's Persian.
