Title: 5587 Holiday Market
Post by: Tiermann on September 13, 2014, 18:22:10: Heather posted a few days ago that Playmobil.de had added some new set instructions for the Christmas sets. Among these are the instructions for a set I hadn't heard of before, 5587 Holiday Market. It seems similar to the previous market set, except way better. The structures are a new version similar to the carnival set but with peaked roofs. They also have fronts that close like the old Steck bakery had. You get two structures that are linked together with a star garland. There are lots of nice accessories including the new cookies, and a new color of the toy fish in blue. The figures look really nice for winter scenes with some great prints on the torsos. I really hope it shows up in other markets eventually. I may have to find someone in Germany to get me one as it's the first of these I really want.

Quite a few wintry parts have been showing up in my data-mining (I put unused numbers into the Erstazteile Finden function of playmobil.de and add to the db anything that appears) and and I had been wondering what they belong to - now we know! It'll be a quick inventory, since I think I have harvested all the parts already.

Thanks for finding the box, Tim, I wondered why it wasn't shown when I clicked on the link a couple of days ago. I agree, it's a very cute set. Those cookies are adorable!

Seems to me this is where the US differers, as we don't have VAT, that's removed from the listed price. Then, with shipping, the cost comes about back up to around the listed selling price. Still, these wind up around $40 each. As much as I'd get in a group order, I wonder if some place in the US won't have this or something similar in the next month or so. Possibly TRU?
