Title: Covered sedan chair?
Post by: moreorless on May 16, 2014, 20:57:34
Has anyone got any good ideas on parts that could be used to make a covered sedan chair? I think I have seen a picture of a Roman custom with brown poles and red (?) roof & seat, but I wasn't able to identify the parts and now can't find the picture anymore...

Do you mean like a palanquin/litter?

I don't know how "customized" you want to go, but I would grab the awning from the Roman boat and attach it to the Pharoah's palanquin.
Alternately, I bet you could make an interesting construction from some SysX fairy-tale castle pieces and the divan.

Of course, you could go really crazy and replace the wheels on the fairy-tale wedding carriage with some kind of pallbearer handles!

Yes I'd suggest the Egyptian ones too.

Can't wait to see what you come up with... I encourage you to go really crazy  ;D

The awning from the Roman boat, that's the part I had seen, thanks! Can't believe I hadn't thought to look there. Now to see what to use it with... I like the idea of the divan...

Just found the custom I remembered having seen:

Fingers crossed that these spare parts are still available... They should be though, shouldn't they, considering that the Roman ship is still available through DS? Off to check!

Just checked, the awning (30267020) and the poles (30514110 ) are still available as spare parts :)!

Not sure about the horizontal poles though, they look different, any clues to what they might be?

Also it looks as though there is an extra part needed to fasten the vertical poles to the horizontal ones, can anyone enlighten me as to how it has been done?

(Sorry for what might seem like obvious questions, I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to customisations...)
