I am not to familiar with the fact that by introducing the new collection a part of the old disappears. I had been postponing to buy the orang oetans as an add on and now they where gone...
I tried to order them separately but they were way more expensive (7,95) and the whole set that was on offer for 27,95. The snake and the white painted tigers I also didn't have.
So I decided to buy the set and I'm happy I did. The set is way bigger than I thought based upon the pictures on the box.
I'll give you a review of the set.

The car is a nice one with the WWF logo on it.
I also like the apes very much. They look friendly and are able to hang in various positions. Too bad the young ones can't move their arms.
I was a bit disappointed in the rocks. They are one piece and you click it on to the base plate. There's not much variation possible.
The ranger comes with a lot of camping and explorer gear. I like the microscope!

This is the complete set.

I love the expression on the young tigers face.

Here you see a secret hiding place for the scorpions.

The ranger also brought some cooking gear. Maybe he has to hunt for meat. There is only one can with carrots and pies and some salad, cauliflower?

The car is my third landrover. I took some pictures of them. Eventhough Playmobil used the same mold I like the variation between the cars. There is also a new jerrycan!

Thank you for the review of this set. I've had my eye on it at TRU. I don't like those rock formations either, and I already have them from another set, but the vehicle is beautiful and I need more orangs. Of course here they don't say WWF and have a zebra instead of the WWF logo. :(

Thanks for the review

Yes, I was very disappointed with that - playmobil finally supports a cause I hold dear, and the sets are only in Germany. I had mine from there (this one and the okapis)
Guess we all agree on the rocks... Rockies would be a lot more useful..

Thank you for the review and the excellent photos.

It's a nice looking set. If you really want the WWF one Bonnie you can order it through Amazon Germany, cost isn't much different than buying it here in the end.
-
I bought this one at www.webgigant.eu
They have all the WWF ones for the dutch market. I bought the okapi and gorilla set a while ago at another online shop. This one also had the zebra instead of the WWF logo while on the site they showed the other box. I also like the logo on the klicky.

Thanks, lovely review!
I really like the landrover. I hadn't noticed the microscope and the camping gear before. Maybe the ranger is a vegan or something. Makes sense ;D
The rock-on-baseplate is a bummer, indeed. I've got one from a fairy set, in different colours. It's difficult to store, because of its odd shape.

Zookeeper helped me to get the WWF okapi one it first came out, so I have that one at least. For the others, I'm not sure I want to spend the extra money or not. Btw, I already bought the panda set at TRU and the bamboo is great. I should do a review of that set, though I already threw away the box I think.

Thanks for the review and the great pics. So much more included then I thought.
I'm eagerly waiting on mine from amazon.de.
Bonnie, I really wanted the WWF logo so I ordered from Germany and once they subtract VAT it was actually a little less then retail price on the Playmobil USA site even with shipping. I was suprised. I got three of the WWF sets (5272, 5273 & 5274 - they were out of 5275) and 5477 - Goldener Ritter Christopher for US$82.03 including shipping. List price for those three sets in the US totals $98.97 (25.99+29.99+42.99).

Nice review a shame the rock's all in one piece but, it doens't look bad set up with the flowers and trees plus those vines to swing on. Looks like the Ranger's well equiped with all his equipment and a nice looking jeep.
The tigers also look nice but, my favourites have got to be the orangutans particularly after watching the Orangutan Diaries about a palce in Borneou rescuing and eventually releasing baby Orangutans. I like the shaggy arms on the babies although it'd be good if they had the same amount of movement as the adult.
Thanks, lovely review!

Could be right about the Ranger persoanlly I'd like it if he was a Vegan although all my guys are Vegetarians since I've been brought up that way, could be that they just didn't want the Orangutans getting a rather more vaired diet than nature intended ;) ;D

Thanks for the review of a nice set. I was very happy Geobra forged an agreement with WWF. I think relationships of this nature are way better than doing product licensing.
-
Thanks for the review! This looks like a great set. :)

I love the picture you took of the Orangutans sitting on the truck!
While I'm not thrilled with the rock in the base plate, I do need the set for my zoo (more I need the landscape parts than anything.)
Thanks for the review!
