I saved the best for last: my first Playmobil ship and it's a beauty!

These ships have wheels underneath. Did not know that. Clever :)

The ship was € 49,99. Not too bad, I guess? I love the fact that they included the clickies and the dog. It was fun assembling the thing, although I did wonder how little kids would manage with all the pieces of string you need to tie to the sails.
I also had a bit of a panick because I had lots of leftover pieces (those tiny clips for the sails). IKEA closet flashback. I guess they're spare parts?
Totally lovely DS release, this one.

I have a complete original, but have considered getting one of these anyway. It's a fabulous set. The inclusion of the klickies here is a great thing, and it's one set where they really listened to the collectors and what we wanted. While 50 Euro is expensive, compared to the prices unopened ones were going for on eBay until recently that is a great price.

:cloud9: sure is a beauty!
Looking forward to your sea and western diorama's!

Wow, this is such a beautiful set. Thank you geobra for rereleasing this and with the much desirable klickies. Not too loony ago if one wanted a MISB one you were going to have to shell out at least $200.
Great present to yourself Birdie and thanks for the great review.
We have a tiny fleet of these but still plan on adding more now.

Thanks for the pictures, I already was planning on getting one but you are making it harder for me to wait with this untill I finished my current story. ;)
Definatly a beautifull ship, and I like how neutral it is. It can be used for so many purposes. It works as an assault ship unlike the latest redcoat ship, but can still work great as a civilian ship or merchant ship.
Some nice accesoires with it as well.. like the signal flags and measurement tools. A shame theres no gold with it to put in the chest though.

Congratulations with your first schooner/sloop! :) :captain:
Does the black suitcase come with a print on it on top (like the original)?
I bought one too but I didn't open the plastic bag it comes in inside it's box, as I want to keep it "mint". (I already have two * orignal 3740s, one for display + photoshooting and one MIB.)
(*): for a pirates' theme freak just two original 3740s may seem a bit few?
-
Thanks! :)
There is no printing on the suitcase.

Beautiful! Thanks for showing us pics!
I was hoping to make this one my first Playmo boat, but I fear it will likely be out of the budget.
-
That really is too bad that there is no printing on the black case, I really liked the original print. The way geobra has been going stamp crazy lately it seems odd to skip on this pricey item. I would prefer them to not use the prints on many klickies but on this case, it was very nice.
-
What was printed on it by the way? I never saw it I think, I do have a cowboy bandit with red hair that came with such a trunk as well and it was printed. Not the same printing though I assume?
-
I can't wait to get this. I have one MIB that I didn't want to open, or sell. But this will be fun. The other plus is that in about six months I can get a whole mess of the sailors individually for the whole fleet, but the down side to this is that the have the new cannon instead of the neat old ones.

This is the black trunk with print as it comes with the original schooner 3740. Really too bad they left it off on the DS-version...
Btw, I don't have a clue what "B" and "S" stand for... "British Ship" perhaps? Or "Burn & Sink"? It surely can't be "Blackbeard's Ship".

Bullship? :-[

She is beautiful :)
Thanks for posting, I'm glad to see that she is as lovely as the original. And very tempting.
I have a complete one in excellent condition but it would be great to have a mint one - that they included the klickys may tip the scales.

That's a real beauty ofa ship that I remember one veyr similar to that one all be it with different Klickies way back when on my old 1990's Pirates posters the Klicky's are really nice as well like the guy in grey climbing the rigging barefoot :arrr: :captain:

Great review and pictures. This set looks like a really cool one. Then again, I suppose that's why it was re-released! :)
