Oh lovely what a nice palce for a relaxing break a lovely looking lake and lush greenery I'd love to sit out on that porch for a bit or indeed knowing me then I'd gladly go for a wade in the lake and probably tidy it up as well  ;D ;) not that yours looks as though it needs tidying

Wow, lovely pic! And the absence of klickies in the set up makes it quiet like a Bob Ross painting!

The background seems to work very well with the set up.

Lovely! A mountain cabin, the house in town, an ultra-modern vacation house too? And that gallery just for fun? Just what do these two do for a living anyway?  ;D Someone has  a trust account I suspect.

Cut them some slack... the cabin has been empty all winter...  ;) But yeah,  and it's been overrun by critters!

You know, you guys are a bad influence... every time you guys make a comment like that, a thousand "story" ideas pop up in my head... like, lil' EmGee is an artist/art dealer/antiquities broker and lil' JayBee is a computer genius... they're both semi retired now, that's why you don't ever see them working!  :) And yeah, lil' EmGee is a trust fund baby his Dad was a manufacturing magnate and his Mom was KlickLand's international cultural attache... both now retired (and a little eccentric) and living in a nice condo in Boca. :)
you see what I mean... once you get me going I can't stop!

This is an awesome setup for the cabin.
Looks so peaceful and a great spot to rest between adventures.
Well done.

For this setup I took an acrylic sheet (inexpensive at home improvement stores), painted one side with two shades of blue acrylic paint, and then used a clear glaze to give it more sheen.
I originally had planned to use the plastic sheet with the painted side down, but it looked too "flat". I had also originally planned to cut the sheet in the shape of the pond, but it proved too much for my home-grade power tools.
The "soil" around the pond is just adhesive cork shelf liner.
