Title: Living Room/Fireplace
Post by: EmGee on April 10, 2013, 18:32:10
I've been too busy lately to pay more attention to my klickies... so I had to make it up to lil' EmGee & lil' JayBee and set them up with a cozy living room with a custom fireplace (and flooring and wallpaper and painting, etc. etc. etc.). As much as I would love to set up their Vic House, I'm running out of space and time for such a big project. But I do have this idea for a super modern beach house... but that one is going to take some time.  ;)
Enjoy the photos...

Lovely scene...

The candles are gorgeous.. and so is the fireplace's "stonework" - is that custom from scratch?

With the weather we've been having (in APRIL!), I almost feel like being near one!

(the glasses on the floor look a bit off in the first pic - I think you surprised them and they just threw them there)

Thanks Tahra... the fireplace is from the old take-along dollhouse 5763, I just painted the grout, and added the gold colored grill at the base, that's from the victorian fireplace.
The glasses... so that's where they went! they were sitting on the mantle... I must've bumped the diorama before the photo was taken (luckily every else is glued down). :)

Ah, thanks! I recognized the golden grill.. but not the "chimney" - I don't have any of the take alongs...

(I still think they meant to hide the glasses! ;) )

What a nice room very calm feel the clock for some reason reminds me of my Sylvanian family sets I had as a kid (they actually didn't have some bad stuff the piano was very accurate looking and a nice TV in a cupboard which I used to make little card screens to fit in the slot in the TV) I've got to say the bright flowers in the corner caught my eye  :)

Lovely scene...

I have to say they do look a little shocked in those photos I thought it was just because they were taking in the new pad  ;)

Lovely setting.
I like the photo in the frame - did you make that?
I knew the fireplace looked familiar but didn't realise that it could be removed.

Thanks Elaine... yeah, that was a photo from my aborted Halloween/Haunted Victorian set up last October.
The fireplace attaches to the floor of the take-along dollhouse with two clips... which I had to cut off in order for the fireplace to lay flat on the floor.

or maybe they just have bad aim and meant to smash the glasses in the fireplace.

Although.. after a few glasses, maybe it's normal their aim is off  ;D

Cool use of the chimney!

I'm fond of furniture and interiors, so if you have more of these photos lying around: please share  :)

It looks nice, I am guessing that they quickly threw the booze behind the chair when company came knocking on their door to admire the new living room. Notice how they are kind of standing and sitting before the evidence.  ;)

Sounds like the way I get ready for company . . . Don't open any drawers or closets!

A nice and cosy sitting room.  Just the place for a cold day.

Nice looking place to relax or entertain a few guests.

Very nice, I love the fireplace! Most of the houses down in this neighbourhood were built in the late 1800's to early 1900's and have the same style of masonry.
