Hi folks,
I started working on the interior of my system-x cathedral. One of the nicest objects to be found in churches is the pipe organ. Organs come in numerous designs and setups. Set 4296 (2008 wedding church) did have a small organ, well, only the pipes actually, there's even no keyboard to play it. I wanted to have a larger organ where the pipes could be inserted into an organ case, like in reality, so I made a case with regular sys-x parts which I painted afterwards. Here's the first design:
-
I must say I just recently discovered the nice world of Dremel as I was suspicious before about destroying Playmobil parts, you could never know if you would ever need the parts again in their original state ;D
But then, I realised I would need to cut some parts to finish the organ. Best example is the grand piano I used for the keyboard of the organ:
I needed a lot of brown as well, the organ is more or less finished...
The organ player belongs to the house of the Knight-Composers ;D Besides their knight duty, they're a bunch of talented music composers, responsible for the writing of music and the maintenance and building of musical instruments in the city of Kodosak. The white swan is their coat of arms for the time being, one day I'll give them their own design.
-
I wanted a so called swallow's nest organ which could be hung to the walls of the cathedral. Here's when the power of system-x comes in as it's just a matter of of plugging it in. This is handy for the building aspect. as to the aesthetics part, I still have a lot of trouble to put all the holes away in the interior of the cathedral . During the creation of the cathedral I've been focusing on the outside, so most of the visible holes are on the inside, but we're working on it :)

:omg: Just awesome! FYI, and though your organ is already incredible: organs have numerous keyboards (at least three, I think). :toot:

Superb craftsmanship to the tiniest detail, this is truly a wonderful addition to your cathedral! Thank you so much for sharing the pictures.

He's not allowed to come down, he must continue playing until my carpenters craft a ladder ;D small forgotten detail that is :-[

And thus the phantom of the cathedral was born, not to be confused with the phantom of the opera. ;)
Now I'm curious if you are going to replace the fellow with a ghost after some time, or let your other clickies throw some food and a bedroll up there.
