I've been toying with this idea for a while... this is by no means the final product... I'm still working on it... and if anybody has any suggestions on how to improve on these figures, please share.... I'm dying for some "official" PM fairy boys...

Hmm, I like your customs but I think after seeing your customs displayed like that I am starting to understand why Geobra might be avoiding this venture :P
-
I do think the fairies should have males, but they'd be less controversial if they were fully clothed. Something more like the elves in LOTR might easier for parents to swallow.
-
I LOVE THEM!
You found a use for those bare feet! Let's see what my sister thinks :)
To me, those fairies have NOTHING to do with elves. Or fantasy (LotR = fantasy)... There's the flowery fairies - that I never really liked until my sister fixed the color-blind person's work (pics of our fairies in the PROCESS.. somewhere).. And there's fantasy, with wizards, dragons, and such.
I WILL make me a couple of those EmGee - they look GREAT! (my only possible improvement is a "prince hair" for the guy with the "witch hair")
Thanks for sharing!

I'm sure they can come up with something better looking... ;)

I don't see how a bare chested fairy dude would be controversial... specially after the success of "speedo man"
Most of the online images of "male fairies" depicts them bare chested and wearing a loincloth and very little else.
What I was going for is completely different from elves... speaking of which, being a huge JRRT fan, I would LOVE to see some elven warriors (as in The Last Alliance) or a group of Sindarin elves from Rivendell or some Silvan elves from Mirkwood... ok, I must stop!!!

Hi Tahra...
I'm sure I have TONS of "prince hair" somewhere...
One thing I'm not crazy about is the torso shape... they look boxy when barechested... I do have a fairy guy I made a while ago, from Speedo Man... I like his body shape better.
-
Maybe a couple of the new style native americans? They seem to have belts that fit also... I agree that the torso's do look too boxy. Otherwise you've to loose the naked torso's and try the light green torso's of the green dragon knights, or maybe the ones of the gladiators!

Well, the torso is a playmotorso. A true one, not the starved version, so, no problem there ;) I just wish we could have white ones! We do have some from the egyptians recently popped, so I think we'll have some of those dark skinned fairies ;)
(I also don't much like the dark skinned klickys with non-black hair (ok, except grey/white)... the "tan" thing is a bit off for me... )
Pics of the speedo fairy? ;)

mmm what a pickle! :hmm:
well...I think you couldn't have chosen a better title for these customs. ;D
They look like "fairy boys"..... but not male fairies, if you know what I mean ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)
Sorry I don't mean to mock your work, I just don't see them as what I would want from Playmobil.
Seriously, male fairies ARE NEEDED in that theme. ;D
But I see them in my mind, let's say, like a typical playmo-Prince with the fairy-wings. A crown of leaves instead of golden crown, earthy natural colors, not flowers really needed, no purple nor pink nor anything girlie. Something like that. A fairy clicky a boy would like too
-
I like them, well done.
George.
-
I like them, and agree that the new indians would be a good starting point as well. They look like flower fairies to me. Go look at the Schleich fairy types to see a butcher version, associated with wildlife rather than plants. A bear fairy is a whole other category. Like they should be running a coffee shop or something.
-
I like the they look quite good in a way thing is there' s so many different directions you could go in when creating fairies :)

No worries... they are not exactly what I want either... they just look a little "off". I personally would like the male fairy to be a little more "ethereal", and not just a prince with wings. I don't know... I guess we'll wait and see what (if anything) Geobra comes out with.

pics of the speedo fairy? ;)
I had posted this photo a while back, from one of the Halloween dioramas... I hesitate to call it a true custom... it's pretty much just speedo man with a bunch of stuff glued on. :)

I like him too - but prefer the more flowery ones ;) My sister liked them too :)
It's a shame we don't have those legs with sandals or something.
-
I can imagine how Speedo Dad might work as a Fairy but, to me that one's just too pink and sparkly so not my taste really :(

LOTR elves are certainly different from fairies. But they'd be more accepted by mainstream parents than bare-chested men with flower wreaths and pink wings, if you know what I mean. EmGee's customs are great, but I don't see a big toy company producing them like that. I like Tonguello's idea of doing earthy colors and avoiding the flowers.

Yeah, prejudice is quite common.
Anyways, I love the flowery ones.. Though I'm ALL for earthy colors. Those would be amazing, and the colors useful for... well.. just about everything.

EmGee, have you seen this one: http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=12395.0 ?
No boxy body..... ;)

FINALLY posted last sunday stuff... Our version of the male fairies, largely inspired by EmGee's are here (http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=8205.msg232532#msg232532).
We were planning to use those.. beltish things too, but couldn't fit them properly with the wings - did you do some cutting to fit them?
