Congratulations René! This picture is incredible, thumbs up for all the landscape effects, and the little bridge!
The cave at the far left on the first picture makes me hope for a side story with hunters and a bear, and maybe an encounter with a remote pack of cavemen?
Will we have the chance to see the Köln knight again in this diorama?
Best,
Arnaud

SUPERB !!
3 months later…
Wow, that's really fast building for medieval times! ;D
-
The new pictures that show more of the castle are fantastic! :)
-
very nice as always. So what do you do with all these dioramas? Are you recycling them or do you store them for later? They seem to be about 8 feet by 8 feet . You have made them look very good.
-
Thanx !
Ras : normaly everything is stored in boxes when i made my pics and have the time for a new one. i build landscape parts which can be taken away easy like the hills ect. the bigger houses and the two towers i will keep and they will be a new part in a future dio.
the two towers i build in our living room in the christmas time. so my son could help me and play with it. that was really fun and this is how i want to build future dios . all parts building "at Home" and than arrange the parts on the dio table. sometimes a dio stays on the table for months and sometimes just 4 weeks.
-
Its really a work of art, I like how you made that dirt road over the grass. Its truly a complete medieval setting.
-
Wonderful castle, great scenes with very nice details, awesome pictures, amazing collection!!!!!!
Congratulations Rene, your dioramas are always perfect!!!!
George.
-
I love the building. Is that an inn or coach house, or estate? And is the back open? I hope you don't mind but I'm going to try and recreate this. It is great!
-
;)

:inlove: This picture is just awesome!
-
Thank you !
Jay : you need to cut 2 closed roof parts diagonal i posted a closer look to the house in the customs area. i tried to recreate this roof part from one of Emma Js great custom houses. the back is open and playable. i didn`t had the time to put some furniture in it. so maybe i will post some pics later...
-
Arnaud : please send me your email adress again i will send you the pic in high resolution ;)
-
If you are a PCC member there is a great demo of how to make the cut roof pieces by Lord Tom.
I'm not sure if the link works for non-members but it's at http://pcc.pm/photo/album/show?id=6423766%3AAlbum%3A71776&xg (http://pcc.pm/photo/album/show?id=6423766%3AAlbum%3A71776&xg)
Beautiful work Rene, it's just amazing
-
I was curious as to why you chose to use non-playmo trees, brush and logs?
-
So? What's happening now? Why has the Cologne knight come? Is there going to be a war? Is Steckstone castle threatened? We want MORE!
-
this will be very busy 2 weeks for me - so unfortunately it may take i little time till i can show more. there is also a huge indoor section in the castle which i would like to show...
-
More pics of this wonderfull theme are always appreciated and well worth the wait. :)
-
A most beautifull diorama,, Rene!! The landscape is amazing!! Your castle very well designed!!!
Thank you for this inspiration!!! Great to see your custom medieval klickies in this setting!!! Nice to know they have a great home/place to be!!!
-

-
you are a hero!
-
This is an awesome castle, Rene, and the pictures are just amazing! Keep 'em coming!
-
The Catsle is brilliant but, the landscapes are very well made stuningly real looking really like the close up photo of the bridge by the well? (think there was a well ??? :-[ ;D) and the pile of logs your customs look great as well :knight: :).
I also like the photo of the orb when someone said about the seeing stone's it reminded me of a set of books I listened to on audio cassette: The Seeing Stone, At The Crossing Places and King Of The Middle March. The books were set around a medieval boy and his life as he becomes a page boy - knight and discovers more about his true family, he's friends with a person like Merlin who gives him a stone made of obsidian through which he over the course of the books sees parts of the story of King Arthur and observes similarities between the two Arthurs.
It's a great story and one year wehn we were on holiday I saw some pieces of Snowflake Obsedian in a gem shop it made me think of the story so I had to buy a piece for the connection to the book hopefully one day I'll do a scene with a seeing stone using a piece of clear quartz I've got in my collection ;).

Some part of your casstle are yelow and not the same color of the rest of the castle , it's the only detail who doesn't fet well , hope this could help to do better next time (not easy ....) Jeremy
