Title: Linen Havelocks and 6th Massachusetts Volunteers
Post by: cheng on December 31, 2012, 09:27:05: "no other toymaker does it better...." (sung to the tune of "no one does it better..." from one of the best classic Bond movies ;D)
not talking about my custom but about GEOBRA's Playmobil, the only toy figures that can even change sides in any war with quick uniform/part changes ;)
A quick snap on of these 'linen' havelocks (from Gaspodfreud) and hey presto! ..and I have my new 6th Massachusetts Volunteers :P

Post by: playmofire on December 31, 2012, 18:58:07: Wonderful, cheng. And for anyone wondering where the name came from, I imagine it came from Colonel Henry Havelock whose Highlanders raised the seige of Lucknow in the Indina Mutiny of 1857 (I think that's the date). (That's Indian as in India.)

EDIT: I hadn't come across his name used like that before. All names, dates, ranks etc. are subject to error!

..another photo (I took those zouaves(in the background)'s bodies to make these Havelock-wearing 6th Massachusetts volunteers and gave those Zouaves normal red trousers)
(they have wrong period firearms...all sent to the Napoleonic fronts :P)

please dont be ashamed Leonardo, we all started somewhere and takes time and also depends on how hard/easy it is to get the correct parts (or how deep our pockets are :P) AND whether we want to use non-playmo-parts, agreed?
those white caps were casted by our talented Malone and given to me by Gaspodfreud(right? ;)), I had hoped for such caps for a long time but its a part Geobar might never make in my lifetime, so no point waiting (only the black peak is painted)

Unfortunately I do not have much skill in paintings, drawings, etc..
So my customizations are limited to using 100% Playmobil pieces.
I really admire the ability to produce own items.
Also, as I said in another post, Playmobil costs 2.5X more expensive in Brazil.
Also, an international order takes 30 to 60 days to reach.
In a year already managed to gather 2,000 pieces for customization, all original parts playmobil.
I confess that these pieces costed the value of a simple car.
You know someone who sells items for customization playmobil?

I dont buy from any other re-sellers, we dont have pay pal (mine are almost all from Germany, slow and expensive to my side of the globe)
so I think its good to just use 100% PM parts like I did when I first discovered customizing...with room for improvements in future ;)

Do you know or have something of him?
His itens are perfect for customization.

Agreed, his parts are accurate, very detailed and are perfect for PM customs.
