Post by: Skywalker on December 25, 2012, 20:51:23: There are a lot of great customisers around and i never tried to create my own custom playmos - but after some work i have done in the past few weeks i feel like i found my way to go on a new adventurous path.

there are a lot of references to characters like "räuber hotzenplotz" in the playmobil sets from the 90s for example . these are characters from otfried preussler that every kid in germany had as book or on tape cassette as audio drama. the drawings of räuber hotzenplotz in the children books look exactly like the medieval robbers from the playmo sets. they are very famous over here and stories like this must have influenced the creators of these playmobil sets. the custom i made is made in the same spirit. just google "räuber hotzenplotz" and look at the pics you find - this spirit is also in the hole medieval sets from playmobil - in my opinion. there is a "gendarm" ( medieval police officer ) some robbers ( räuber hotzenplotz ) and the different medieval town habitants and so on. i have to say that the term "medieval" is not 100% historical correct but who cares...

Post by: cheng on January 02, 2013, 01:18:04: in my daily rush, popping into PF and picking which threads to open, I've been giving this thread a pass because I thought 'medieval' probably was just more PM medieval armies :P
...but WOW! very beautiful use of so many rare pieces and the many shades of brown...I'm no expert in european medieval times but they sure look very authentic..in those era when the range of colour dyes are still limited.
These colours are also very suitable for my ancient chinese cusotms except I need to wait for different shoes and sleeves :P
Congrats Skywalker and a great start to 2013 indeed!

All of them are awesome, but I especially like these two in the center. Those collars are so cool. I have to go back and study the medieval sets to see where they came from.
